zeromark,
__________________Here is the link to the vdroop mod, I havent done it because I am happy with my oc but others have had great success with it. I have yet to hear of anyone frying their board, on the other hand how many people would come on here and say uhh I did the vdroop mod and fry'd my board cause I didnt do it right. http://www.itsjohnnybravo.com/Overcl...0&%20vcore.jpg I was able to take my oc from 2.4 to 3.15 without any modding at all, I did the bolt mod because I thought it was needed but actually my temps are higher now that I did it I am guessing because now there is no air getting through between the mosfets and the heatsink which yes I know makes no sence, the heatsink is supposed to keep things cool but without active cooling I think the heatpipe idea is a bad one, because now the heat from the the northbridge and southbridge follow the pipe up (heat rises) to the end where the mosfets are and from my personal experience I feel that the mosfets are the ones that need the cooling the most. As to your idea about why the vdroop happens, sorry but you are wrong. The vdroop is always there, the harder you stress the system the more you can see it but none the less it is still always there, even after the mod. After the mod though it is not nearly as bad and it doesnt fluctuate hardly at all even when the systems is stressed according to others that have done it.

OK maybe you guys know. I am trying to figure out how to get the extra hdd I have now to show up. I redid my install and went with a raid0 so I have two drives for raid 0 and installed vista and all that good stuff.
Now I have a second hdd that is plugged in that I wanted to use for backup and stuff. This guy shows up in bios, shows up in task manager but does not show up in mycomputer. Any reason why, Ive never had to run raid and an extra hdd with this board as long as Ive had it so I cant remember if this was a issue with the board/bios/or the OS. Thanks for the input guys

It is to do with the way the Intel Controller operates - either all RAID mode or not, but run up the Matrix Manager within the OS and select the single drive and from there you maybe able to deassociate it as a RAID spare ... it is not something I have tried as generally all 6 ports are doing someting RAID ... other wise use the JMiron eSata ports, they are not as fast but still work OK. You can use an eSata-SATA cable or put the drive in an external case with eSata support.

Raid 0 I havent gotten to play with yet. Had a few issues. I also had a problem with the partition size. I am using two 250gigs so I figured I would do 400g for the whole vista setup and storage and the rest of it for maybe installing some other OS's to play with (like linux or something) anyways now the extra 80gigs isnt readable and it isnt readable from the install point of vista. Basically Ill have to go back to the raid controller options get rid of the current raid and redo it to max then make sure I partition it correctly. I am tired and sick so I guess I shouldnt be doing this stuff ahh well. Ill post some benches when I finally get this all worked out.

The Intel Controller can support up to two RAID Arrays, so if you have two HDDs and configure them for RAID-0 - set the partition size to say 40Gb for Vista and then the 2nd RAID (on the same pair of drives could be RAID-1 for the remainder fo the partition, while VIsta allows for the partition to be resized it is not the same as enabling the Matrix feature of the controller .. also I setup the initial partition first then install Vista and complete the other partiotns or various HDDs later, seems to allow Vista to install easier... if you want a performance boost on the arrays have a play with it and sizes...

Thanks for the input NCSA, Ill have to play around with that before I get to attached to this install. Just playing right now but compared the bench between the raid0 and the single hdd on its own. The single hdd has the pagefile on it. Theya re all the same 250g WD drives.
single drive ![]() raid 0

Looking good ...
Here is a test with 6 drives using the Intel Matrix Controller on the IP35-Pro and Vista x64 - WBC also enabled and the Stripe is 64K
