not my kind of fun...
(you always gotta let bubba win or else...)

ouch... lol

I sent my complaint... hope others did the same... either way they won't do a thing... apparently they are waaaaaaaay to big popular and settled to have to... I am going to "settle" for 3.3GHz till X38 is out... then I'll have to figure out a way to switch

USlatin you tried a high-end quality PSU? Such as a PC Power & Cooling? That should help IMO.

Antec PSUs are not good in my book, I think they're the reason why I was having such a hard time with my 650 and 660 back 2 years ago, then got the PowerStream 520W and those two were doing things the Antec 500W couldn't do.

Here, this one won't brake the wallet for the price and power you'd be getting: http://www.pcpower.com/products/view...hp?show=S61EPS

They changed manufacturers though so they are better... check out the reviews on this one... they are very solid... not as good as the 620W Corsair but close enough (though ugly).... I didn't know what I was doing when I picked it up though.....

BUT.... HOW FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK!
I have a PC Power and Cooling in the mail as we speak!!! heheheh
Got it 6-months old only ran a Duo two RAIDs and SLied GTX... "only" but it should be in great condition... coming with purchase proof for date.... all for $100 even... OCN members FTW!!!

how funny you should recommend the same PSU in the beginning of your post heheh :thumb"

BTW... P5N32-E SLI have the Great Wall of China right at 375FSB for anything with more than 2 cores... so it seems... I am going to try to go X38 soon

Nice thread. But instead of just putting up the highest wall I think it would be better to put up the range of walls for different people's same chipset motherboards.

Like if member1's eVGA 680i is walled at 420 and member2's eVGA 680i is walled at 445, put like 420-445 so people won't think that 445FSB is guaranteed for that chipset or something.

Just an idea

I think the range wavers due to many factors... a wall for one person may not be the same wall for another... and that's due to alot of factors... ambient temps... lapped or not lapped... NB cooling... voltage/settings. I think given enough people who really pushed their system in all facets and tied down the variables, you start to get a clear picture.

I am pretty confident the wall is at 375FSB for the P5N32-E, quad core, 9x multi. ANd that's not due to my inability to cool NB/CPU, because my temps are in check and I water cool etc etc. I think everyone can get close to it, but after that the voltages go out of whack because a Ref voltage (GTL) is unstable/inadequate, then it would appear that there's a range. Simply put... I think the importance is the ceiling. Because that ceiling clearly demonstrates it's a wall, and not due to other factors like quality of work/ambient temps/etc.

So far, I'm staring at this

stupid p5n32-E... say that 10x fast.... i hope a horrible death... ok fine, not death. a broken window and flat tire to all ASUS's management and engineering staff.

Like X said, if you have the highest FSB confirmed then you know where to expect problems as you get within 10FSB of the mark give or take. I want to keep the first post simple and then for further understanding of the meaning the rest of the thread will most likely develop into a complete discussion of all that's related.
I'll keep in mind that there may be specifics that might be useful if quoted in the first post though... things like NB voltages used to reach said walls and such but I think a full list of boards and their record FSBs is the main thing. Right?

I really wished more people had posted already...

tough to have a 4.0GHz capable chip running at 3.3 but might be worth the wait and $$$ when DDR3 becomes mainstream...
