I will be getting mine next week with a Q6600 B3. I was thinking about the 9700 Zalman for cooling. My question is if it will fit with that NB/heatsink. If any of you have it please let me know your results.

I am looking forward to OC'ing with this board, based your reviews and results it looks to be a great board. Thanks.

Does anyone know if an Ultra 120-Xtreme will fit on this board? That is the only downfall that I can see..

TheEddie,

Yeah I'm wondering how aftermarket coolers are. Because if it won't fit I will have to buy a nb heatsink/fan or go passive cooling.

well i got my board

speed 2.800 ghz
fsb 400 @ 1:1
vcore 1.325
nb 1.41
ram 2.2 4-4-4-12 2t

set this up out of the box. my last 650i board couldnt even get to 360fsb and im at 400.
i tried doing 460 with 1.4 vcore and 1.5 nb voltages with no luck .

EDIT: i achieved a 430 fsb. bumped the vcore to 1.35.

this board has a few new things i have never used before and i have a couple of questions

what exactly is glockgen control ?

what do the cpuvtt and nbvtt do and what should i set them at in relation to the standard CPU and NB voltages?

is the fact that i didnt change any of these the reason my higher overclock failed?

thanks in advance

the CPU VTT and NB VTT are the CPU and NB voltages respectively.

I haven't had my system running for over a week now because I have been trying to get a watercooling setup going.

However, you should be able to reach 500FSB no problem.

set NB VTT to 1.41
set CPU VTT to 1.48
set Ram voltage to 2.2
set the SB/CPU PLL voltage to 1.95
set the FSB/Ram strap to 333/667 (1:1)
leave ram timings on auto for now

that should do it.
If this works for you, try bumping down the CPU voltage until you get it stable (basic overclocking, except this time you will start from a high and work down rather than starting low and working up in increments).

let me know.

onelivestarfish,

Thanks for info. I'll be checking a blood iron out at work today and look in the bios. I'll report back on how an E6750 does.

well actually i guess there is no NB vtt just CpU vtt.

well heres what i tried

500*6 (tried 7 but it wouldnt boot even with 1.45 vcore)
vcore 1.45
ram 2.2
cpuvtt 1.48
SB/cpu PLL 1.95
auto ram timings(5-5-5-18 2t)@ 1:1

got it

my super pi times went down. probably because of the loose timings.
whats the benifit of higher bus speeds but lower clock speeds?

edit: ran super pi a few more times and it is barely slower
