wow, does anyone on here use this board?

I cannot report anything about the stock cooler and how it performs as i switched mine out for an hr05 immediately after purchasing. Apparently it voids the warranty to remove it but i didn't see it as that big of a threat it only being about a 120$ board.

running up and over 500 fsb with a passive hr05 in my antec 900 i get right around 42 load on the northbridge.

The board clocks like a beast, im not to sure how it will run with a quad, but hopefully when the new 45's come out i will run it in there. I want a 4ghz quad more than just about anything.

See that what i want to avoid

I DO NOT liek to void warrantys, Just incase factors into everything in my life lol

Is that north bridge really goign to be an issue for me?

of course i need to be able to push 350-400 fsb on it, but will i be hurting on the chipset cooler?

as it is now i ALWAYS have a room fan Blowing air directly to vidcard/southbridge and sweeping through the Processor and mosfets cooling the entire board down.

i wonder if this would be enough for the blood iron =/

I've heard the northbridge gets quite hot with the stock cooler which is the reason for the controversy over not being able to switch it out without voiding the warranty.

$120 isn't a lot for a motherboard, but I'd be careful when taking off the sticker just as a precaution.

with the stock NB cooler you will reach 500FSB. No problem. that additional fan will lower temps a bit. Also, I was running my ram at 2.4v last night on the Blood Iron (memtesting) with the geminII cooler (2 x Panaflo) and the ram was just barely warm to the touch.

If all you need is 400FSB, then you will be well within the capabilities of this board.

I personally am going to try to reach 600FSB if I can acquire the appropriate cooling.

Urge to buy... increasing .

For my choices of P35 with Raid, it's down to this or the Asus P5K-E (Non-Raid would just be the Abit IP35-E).

Looking forward to more results starfish .

Just got off the phone with DFI rep, apparently if you are not happy with the Cooling solution givin with the board, you can send the board back, or talk them into sending you better ccooling.

so i think i personally have made my decision, and will br runnign the Blod iron as well =)

yah the guy said that if the Cooling is insufficient they can outfit it with a better one.
Wich should also mean they could potentially send it to me instead of me sending to them.

Kidn of like when my MSI Neo4-f southbridge fan died, they sent me a much nicer / free Copperbased HS/fan wich worked wonders.

Alright, I finally had the opportunity to play with is this morning. I set it up last night, but had to go to bed. So within 30 minutes, I reached 528FSB on my E6600 using a 7x multi.
It took a bit of tweaking (voltage) to get here. There are plenty of options though that I still have to work through. My memory (Team Xtreem PC2-6400, ) is quite impressive right now and I was surprised. I am running at 1056mhz with 5-4-4-12 2t timings (2.25v) with a 1:1 ratio with all 4 DIMMs populated. I am going to try and tighten that up a bit. My 1M super pi time for this setup was 14.047sec. I will try to get into the 13s.
All of this on air using a CM geminII with 2 panaflo's. This board has really got me excited about overclocking again.
