Default Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 rev 2.0 thread

I couldnt find much info about the ds4 let alone rev 2.0. Why is it that information is so scarce on this board? I thought it would be a good idea to start up a thread for the ds4 where owners or people knowledgeable about it can share their information. Ill post pics of my kit when I get it and I have a 965EE that was having problems with my old board; ill see if I can get that working too.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, fellow Ds4 owners.

Pros:

-Stable
-No vdroop from idle -> load on dual cores, quads have a TINY vdroop
-Runs cool with it's good heatsinks
-Lots of overclocking and safety options
-Very high quality sound for being onboard
-Handles high FSBs like a walk in the park
-8 pin CPU power connecter if you have the 8 pin plug
-Crossfire support
-Dual bios, if you accidently corupt the main bios the backup bios will kick in and reflash itself to the default bios

Cons:

-None so far!

NOTE: Make sure you upgrade to F8 bios ASAP if it don't ship with it installed already, F8 gives Penryn support and a bunch of other improvements.

well, I didnt get it tonight. Ive been checking the tracking number on newegg and some how its been on a plane to Pennsylvania for 3 days now. I better get it tomorrow or else ill have to wait until monday to get some pics up here.

I agree with you gigabyte, I think its a great board. I just dont see why people dont talk about it much. I mean people praise the DS3R all the time and this is basically the same thing but with better heatsinks, crossfire support and higher overclocks for $50 more. In my opinion this is the best p35 board available for under $200

Im running the F8 bios on this board overclocks well. The only issue i see at the moment is getting the Vcore to stay put. I can overclock to 3.6 but no matter what i do the Vcore Will not stay set where i put it. And yes my settings are at manual for voltages. For a 3.6 clock I set 1.44 Vcore but the bios sets it at 1.49 or higher sometimes,Ive also noticed that easytune does not report correct volateges.Sofar its been stable as a Rock!

ChrisB17,

I got all the hard drive files transferred over last night and then this morning I put the motherboard in, took off the heatpipes, applied AS5 and hooked it up . Ill I have gotten to do so far is just browse the bios for 2 minutes and then I had to go to work. Ill be getting out of work in 6 hours. then im goin right home to set up the raid0, install windows and do some overclocking/benchmarking

If theres anything in particular that you would like to know or anything you want me to benchmark/test/try just lemme know and ill do it

Mr.Bones, ill look into that voltage problem tonight and see if mine does the same and if so how I can fix it
