Default Problem and Solution ASUS P5K Overclocking Bug (Premium / Black Pearl Special Edition

I have seen many people complain about P5K that it is faulty because it will not let someone boot because it says overclocking is failed, and it does this even if u change the time and date in bios this is not a faulty mother board but a faulty bios. for some reason they have not paid attention to P5K Premium/BlackPerl/Vanilla customers. there r also problems big big problems with non Seagate SATA2 hard driver they don't work most of the time, ASUS blame this on HDD manufactures.... but the motherboard should be built to fit other components not the components built to fit the motherboard. i know how people feel because ASUS was my first build and it took me 3 months to get my build finished. never again will i buy ASUS (i say this not tho)

So heres to the people who r going crazy over the overclocking bug

Problem and Solution

PROBLEM

THIS IS THE ERROR I GET WHEN I CHANGE ANYTHING IN BIOS, EVEN AS MINOR AS DISABLING THE BOOT LOGO...

THIS IS THE ERROR I GET AFTER REBOOTING AFTER REFLASHING BIOS...

SOLUTION
Disabling "Transaction booster" solves this bug
Enter Bios
Go to Advance tab
Enter JumperFree Config
AI Overclock [Manual]
Scroll Down
Change Transaction Booster to [Disable]

PROBLEM

Asus mobo

SOLUTION

EVGA mobo

Ha!Ha!Ha! j/k Pretty good find! So any idea as to what this "Transaction Booster" does?

EDIT:
Quote:
Transaction Booster bios option when enabled, seems to boost memtest86+ v1.70 reported memory bandwidth. By default Transaction Booster is set to AUTO, but when Enabled or Disabled a sub menu appears in the form of levels. When enabled, Transaction Booster gives you an option to select 2 Boost levels of 0 or 1. When disabled, Transaction Booster gives you an option to select 3 different Relaxed levels between 0-3 - level 0 at least looks the same as AUTO set Transaction Booster in memtest86+ v1.70 bandwidth.

Don't blame the wonderful people at ASUS for your hubris generated failure. But then you do know more than the phds who designed testing on wafer, don't you?

solution: want reality to be other than it is MUCH more intensely.

(reality is what you want it to be.. that's why your house is made of gold and you have a flying pig)

hey Karen have you rasied a ticket with asus ???

as this is happening to my P5K3 as well

but only if I change from the maximum ratio setting .

i.e my default / max is 10
I get no overclock failures at this setting ,

if I go to x8 or x9 ( as I am now ) it regularly fails if I change one setting

the bios works no problem as long as you don't try and change the multilpyer to lower than the max for the chip.

you fix sort of works .....it will fail if a rebbot occurs but then you just save it again and off it goes .............flaky if you as me
