Hello fellow OC'ers!
Was just curious if there were any other owners of this board here and what your comments are, how long you've had it so far, how it's been treating you and specs of course!! Once I learn how to make thumbnails from screenshots i'll post my own. thanks Edit: So far, Ive been able to post 4Ghz with my proc by only adjusting the vcore voltage to 1.51!!! (bios reads 1.52). If I want to adjust the Northbridge voltage do I adjust the (G)MCH or the MCH voltage? Edit 2: Yes, yes, yes!!! 4.0Ghz (1st pic) Edit 3: Bios MIT pics for 3.8Ghz (running 24/7, Orthos stable) 3.92Ghz (@1.485v, ram @ 980 4-4-4-15:2clocks 2.2v, all other settings in MIT left the same) also runs stable for 10+ hours but I'd rather use my proc a few years longer than run at higher speeds ![]() EDIT 4: R.I.P. DQ6 (02-12-07 - 22-02-08) You served me well...

As promised, screenshots!! Do the statistics look alright to you guys? I get the feeling the true potential of this system has not been reached yet. (There should be 3 screenshots in totall.)

I'm currently putting together a comp that includes the GA-X38-DQ6. I'm just waiting on the video cards. I hope it all works out.

Yeah right here
__________________![]() Im still working on getting my CPU to 3.2 ghz ![]() I dont like increasing voltages so im tinkering with everything else now. What I dont like about this board is the support Gigabyte gives. The latest bios is from October now. F7 should be on its way but its taking forever. Using F4 which is the latest non beta bios available.

) Every cpu is different of course, so every OC is different, but here are some things I found out with this board: **This is not a how-to, but a guideline. THIS is a how-to:http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...ing-guide.html ** -set everything that you're not using in bios to "disabled" (drive A,com port, legacy USB storage detect...) -disable C1E, TM2 and EIST Function -set "System Voltage Control" to manual (you'll have to do this later on otherwise) and adjust "DDR2 Overvoltage Control" accordingly -Enable CPU Host Clock Control (now your CPU Frequency is adjustable) -Max out fsb (on default voltage, leaving "DRAM timing selectable" to auto). When system either does not boot or boots wierd, up the "cpu voltage control" one/two notches (watch out-every cpu has a breaking point qua temperature and volts) -mem frequency will adjust itself automatically, you can not unlink fsb and ram on this board, it's best to have a 1:1 ratio though, so either set your "System Memory Multiplier" to 2.00B, 2.00D or 2.00A to keep the 1:1 ratio whilst overclocking. -adjust ram timings -Test your overclock with Prime95 or Othos for stability That's about all I can share with you about my OC process. I followed the Overclocking Guide, and had to find lots of other info about my hardware (temps, voltages) before I even changed one setting in the bios. (Please read all RED colored texts in the bios, they help as well!!!) Hope this helps you out! And if you have any question about the board or OC'ing feel free to ask!

I must say that I was a little wary at first, but once you start cranking it up, the board just shrugs at you...
Here are some screenshots, just ignore the CPU-Z readout on the 3DMark score...if only i could clock that high... Using BIOS F6b, and it's running very stable. I have a X6800 CPU (unlocked multiplier) arriving, so we'll see how it fairs, although i'm afraid that the RAM will be the weak spot (still, it hit 996Mhz at 1.9v and was stable). All said, i'm happy with it, but i think there is a DDR3 version in the future...

![]() ![]() True... Whatever numbers I punch in it just seems to laugh at me every time it boots. My full-load temp at 4.0Ghz is the only thing holding back a stable overclock ![]() You'll definately SMASH 4.0Ghz with your processor, but you must get your ram stable at 1000Mhz. 996Mhz is of course by itself a SWEET OC, hope you can get your fsb high enough to test that 1000Mhz!! Do post results, timings and volts please!
