Just added an antec spotcool to the board (again thanks syrillian, what a difference!)

See post #3 for pics.

This is a must add for the board. Also considering that I was able to fit it under a thermalright ultra 120e, I can't imagine any other cooler having clearance issues.

Still no love for me regarding the 780i. Now waiting on 3 different sources
The Spotcool looks good on there
Might be a necessity for awhile as I've read there aren't any nb blocks for these boards yet.

I've had some issues with BSOD's/reboots on boot up into windoz XP for no_apparent_reason.

What's strange is that it would only happen with SLI enabled.

Did some research and found that other folks with this board (XFX/EVGA) were having similar issues (not SLI related). The problem seemed to stem from funky nforce sata drivers in the new forceware 9.46 release which is what both vendors are recommending.

The solution was to do a fresh install followed by loading nforce 9.46 but this time, decline the "install mediashield" option which are nvidia's sata/raid drivers.

Not wanting to do a fresh install (again), I;

1. Booted into safe mode.
2. Uninstalled all nvidia drivers except my display drivers.
3. ran driver cleaner pro to remove nforce residues.
4. Booted into windows and reinstalled 9.46 declining mediashield, (so I'm essentially running on the stock Microsoft sata drivers).

All seems to be good as a result.

So far so good..

I never install programs like mediashield they are usually POS.

The old nforce network drivers on the 690i were the same way. very funky

Rob,

I thought you needed mediashield to get the nvidia sata drivers..

Anyway as an update to my previous post, I actually had to go into device manager and roll back the disk drive controllers to the original microsoft flavor. But as a result, the bsod's are GONE...
