Id probly lean towards psu because if the boards working at stock probly not bad but its a toss up. The gpu and cpu are probly on same rail inside of the psu you might try to put a old gpu in that requires less amps i know the x1950 cards are power hungery cards.

It might, although the 12V2 rail is supposed to be just for the CPU and the 12V1 (20A) for the rest. At home right now im running Prime95 , started it this morning and wont get home till about 7 so I will see if its failed. What I guess I could try doing is taking my 580 Hyper PSU and use that just for the 6 PIN GPU or for mobo connections and see where that takes me. i had posted another thread asking if all that stuff is fine with my PSU and i had 2 yes's saying deff. so.... I guess people cant always be right. Thanks for your help man, will post back later

With the GPU at its current clocks, I ran 3D mark 06 succesfully, with a fairly good score, and the 12V rails went down to...i think....11.85? or somewhere in that range with the DMM. I put my cold cathodes on Flash rather then steady on and that seemed to take a bit of load off the PSU. Brought 12V from 11.97 to 12.00~11.99. Didnt realize they had such a big load. If worse comes to worse, I can take internal components like Pump + Cathodes and run them off an external PSU. There goes the electricity bill (:

BTW- Odd thing it says, and one of the reasons I get it, it was SLI compatible so thought it would have no problem running a single card. Go figure.

Hey guys,

DK P35-T2RS
Intel Q6700
Crucial Ballistixs 2GB DDR2-800 4-4-4-12
Noctua NH-P12U Cooler

I played with the BIOS a little but I cant seem to achieve a decent overclock. Can anyone recommend BIOS settings I should be using.

As of now I am currently clocked @ 3.2ghz (400FSB x 8 multiplier). Which seems to be the highest I can get.

Has anyone else had experience with this ram or CPU with this board.

With these settings my Vcore is 1.45 (I have performed the VDroop mod) and VDroop goes to 1.42 at load. It seems most people can hit 3.2 without even changing the Vcore but as you can see mine is set pretty high. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I can try? If i drop the settings for the CPU voltage by one I am unstable in Prime95.

Thanks
Rom

Try these out from page 35.. They were alright for me and my E6600..

Those settings seem to work fine. I am @ 3.2 right now. I really want to try and use a multi of 9. I was also hoping I'd be able to get something around 3.6 or so.

But I cant get over 3.2

Ya but from some reviews i read on differt psu the pcie connector and cpu connectors are all on same rail im not sure if its same with your psu or not.

Oh i see. Well i ran Prime95, in windows safemode, dual threads last night for 11 hours and no errors. The only thing I did was turn off my cold cathodes (6 of them) and the 12V went to 12.02 stable. So maybe that was the trick. I just clocked it up to 2960 and am running the DOS PRIME 95 and will see where that takes me.

Edit- I take another PSU and run the GPU and a majority of my fans off of it and still could not boot at 3000MHZ. SO I dont think its a PSU problem. Although when i took all that stuff off the 12V went from 12.02 to 12.08 but nothing really important. I also upped the SB/CPU Pull Voltage to 1.75 and now it seems @ 2960MHZ, prime 95 has been running for an hour so.... Ohhh well, Im at a lost here.
