Ughhh I might have to. Just seems weird that it could be the board if it runs fine on Stock and even with a slight overclock. The only thing I can think of, even thogh the RAM ran fine @ 900 is to try the clocks while taking RAM out or moving it to the other slot. Im gonna also email DFI tech support, if they have one. Replacing the motherboard is the biggest pain in the a** with computers. Id rather have to reinstall windows. I must be missing something Thanks for your help man.

Ya i agree you got a wierd isssue it could be your ram try using loose timings and up its voltages if a board runs stock and still overclocks some makes me think the board should be good. Download memtest and run it that should help you to see if the ram is bad or not.

Well there is 3 sticks in total. 2 I bought together, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145566
and then I bought another 1GB corsair Stick later. I made sure the timings and voltages were the same for all sticks. Right now Prime is running So I cant do much but the 2x 512's are in the orange slots and the Gig is in the first Yellow slot. All Ram timings are set to Auto and the RAM voltage is @ 2.10 (the max I believe). Again on my other board, with same RAM i was able to achieve higher clocks so..... By lowering the multiplier I managed to get the RAM to go to DDR2900 while the CPU was nice and low. I ran Memtest for a few minutes and no errors. If i brought the CPU to the appropiate speed, it would freeze at post. Again though I just got above 2920 to 2960 and Prime has been stable for an hour. Before I couldnt get to that but now I can. Vcore is at 1.4 which is kind of too high and the only thing I really did was A. Shutoff the cathodes B. Bring the SB voltage up to 1.75. Im emailing DFI tech right now to ask them whats going on. I agree with you Wolf that I dont think its the board since at Stock its fine. I still must be missing something. Unless the P35 Needs insanely high voltages? like past 1.5?

No I havent but I remember on my last rig I did have to take that stick out for some reason. Im gonna let Prime run until tonight but Ill deff. try that later. I was thinking about that too.

What was your old board?
Have you tried overclocking with just the 2x512 sticks? What about with just the 1 Gig stick? It's taken me a while to finally stabilize my overclock and what seemed to help me was messing around with the memory timings. It just seems weird that you're hitting problems before 3 ghz.

Yeah thats whats bothering me is Im hitting problems with such a crappy overclock. No I have not tried with just 512's or Gig but again tonight after the Prime is done Ill deff. want to give that a shot. Im not too comfortable playing around with RAM timings so I might need some guidence on that, especially with DFI's Bios (:
BTW- My old board was the P5B Deluxe. Overclocked like a bat out of hell. I ditched it cause after the 3rd time it died I got sick of asus.

Are you sure you want to RMA it? Surely if it works, and NewEgg test it as working, they'll just send it right back to you, regardless of it's overclockability (or lack of) ?
What's your recommended RAM voltage? Have you tried it at that? Maybe you need to change the RAM linking? Set it to a lower setting so it stays around 800 (i assume) when your cpu speed is higher..?

This little 40mm fan on the northbridge is nuts. I never cross 40c running 425FSB on a quad with 1.47v NB voltage.
