First Time Build

Thank you for the reply. It actually went up to 3.9Ghz after messing around a bit, but honestly I don't know what I did to cause it to go over 3.6Ghz. I haven't specified anything different within the BIOS to do so. Currently testing the CPU @ %100 load (3D rendering) for over an hour and everything seems OK. Highest core temp changes between 70 - 71 Celsius. I guess I'm going to settle @ 3.9Ghz since 4.0Ghz requires more than 1.5V Vcore. And that I won't dare :P

Overclocker

![]() ![]() <---- That's how I feel when I look at this board bios trying to overclock my rig. It has too many menus and features I have never seen in my life. I have used Asus, MSI and Gigabyte and it was all there, easy. How can I overclock this thing?

All you need to do to begin with, is look in the Genie BIOS bit:
![]() Then, in there there should be all the options you need.. Try bumping up the FSB a little, then keep going from there. Also, have a scoot through this thread, there are plenty of Screenshots and helpful things. First thing i did when i got this board was to find a list of someone's setting which got them to 3.2 (a good few pages back now) and went from there. It's not too daunting once you know what's what..

Ya its not to bad genine bios and up the fsb then add vcore as needed when you learn all that you can play with the memory stuff but it will work fine on auto.

Question about the Vdroop mod. How hard or how much pencil do you have to put on the motherboard for it to work?

I'm going to take my heatsink off in a few and try to get rid of this vdroop. I think I could hit 3.7 ghz if I didn't have it.

edit: i feel like i got better results drawing on the side of the chip where it meets the motherboard rather than on top. Anyone else get similar results?
