I heard though that you can't use two Dual Slot GPU's in SLI, Is this true?

Would it be a good set up;

Q6600
Asus P5n-d
4GB Ballisitx
2 x 8800GTS G92

You can use dual slot VGA cards. Just remember, there will be barely any space between the cards. The first card will have almost no space to suck air in. I read a few reports of 1st PCIe slot being almost 5C-10C hotter than the bottom one.

If you plan on using 2slot VGA cards, use the EVGA 750i FTW, it has 2 PCI slots between the PCIe.

hi! my friend got this 8800gts in sli on this board, and I got the 8800gt in sli also..

This works great for both of us atleast! but my friends temps are a bit higher on the first card, about 8-10c more.. but if you got good cooling this will be really no problem!

Just buy it, and love it

Been following this thread for a bit (long time reader, first time poster stuff here)...

For you guys with the Q6600 / P5N-D 750i SLI combos...What bios version are you using?

For the record, I'm a complete OCing n00b, but wanting to learn. I'm afraid I've got some bad information and don't want to start blowing things up (yet), so I've put my OCing dreams on hold. Hell, I'd be happy if I could just get the Q6600 OC'd to 3.0Ghz and leave it there.

use the latest bios 0502! 3ghz is easy! Just put vcore 1.42v nb & ht 1.48v, sb to 1.58v, then set fsb to 1333! And boom you got 3ghz

Is that 'safe' on air? Currently pushing 2x120mm fans in front, 1x120mm fan exhaust rear, 1x220mm exhaust fan on top.
