Just came across this board myself, looks like a good speck and would do nicely with a q6600. Will be wtching this thread carefully.

I just built a new box with this board and the Core II Quad Q6600. I am impressed by it. I was able to push it to 3.5 GhZ so far. I had to upgrade the BIOS, adjust the core voltage, the HT voltage, and the north bridge voltage before I could get it to overclock decently though. The CPU is running cool too. I am very glad I chose the board. I will post my cpu-z validation soon to show my settings.

have you tested to make sure you're CPU is orthos stable? Also, gt memtest86+ and test your ram OCs with that to make sure you're stable in that department.
And also, are you using Core Temp for your temperature readings? The most accurate of the programs.

Unfortunately, Orthos proved that it wasnt stable. It rebooted after about 35 minutes of testing. However, I am pretty sure that it can be made rock solid as It doesn't crash on me with regular use. I played Call of Duty 4 today for 4 hours with no issues. I will keep messing with it until it is Orthos stable though.

you might try upping your vcore just a little bit to see if it's orthos stable
