Ok fellas, heres some info/questions.

My CPU is an E8400 witha VID of 1.225
I have the voltage set in BIOS to 1.3625
Idle V seems to sit at 1.336
Under load my voltage was dropping to 1.296 before volt mod, now it stays at 1.31

So, I tried 450x9 for 4.05ghz, which won't do more than 18 minutes in orthos.
I have also tried 500x8 which makes the computer EXTEMELY fast, but stability is an issue, and something about a 2000 rated FSB just feels scary

So in the search for stability, I dropped down to 430x9 for 3.870 with a 1720 rated FSB and ran orthos last night, 8 hrs, no prob. I have noticed with this setting, the RAM is only running at 430mhz (x2) So I am wondering if the RAM was the prob before, and if I should adjust the ratio, or unlink it in BIOS, and try for 4ghz again.
The reason I ask this, is because I am new to this type of BIOS and am not sure of where to achieve this....like what is strapping? :P

...I forgot to add, My temps were a steady 62c while stress-testing untill the cool morning air got them to 60. That should be acceptable for 100% of both cores eh?

Quick question regarding the chassis power switch...in the manual it makes it sound like they are momentary switches and not SPST's? Is this true? I had been under the impression that they were SPST's (single pole single throw) for a press/click "ON", press/click "OFF" function. The manual talks about pressing and holding the power switch for 4 seconds to turn off the computer. This makes it sound like it is actually a momentary switch since a SPST is either "open" or "closed".

I really hope I don't have to scrap my custom swtich box I made because of this as I currently have a SPST installed and it isn't small (3/4" dia) which will mean a redo will be needed.

Edit...Got the answers and ordered a new switch. Yes, they are momentary.

Another new Maximus Formula Bios is out.
BIOS 1207

Adds support for the rev.E0 processors E8400, E8500, E8600 and Q9400, Q9550, Q9650.

I can't seem to add the direct link to the download section for the BIOS so you'll have to go though Asus' mumble jumble of links. >.<

Can anybody recommend a tool like Clockgen that will work with the Maximus?

I generally set my OC in bios but it's nice to have a clockgen type tool for benchathons and what not.

Thanks ...

Have you tried setfsb? They use it a lot on XtremeSystems Forums.
