I had this problem with my G.Skill. it turns out that the tRC has to be set to 52. Unfortunately the highest the bios alows you to set it is 42. The only fix I found was to tun the memory timings on auto . Thats right, AUTO! I hate setting anything in bios to auto. But at auto, the board sets the tRC to 52.

I also found that the board doesnt like running on anything but the 400 strap above 400 FSB. Try setting your timings to auto and see what happens.

Thank you so much for your help! REP + for everyone else too! Btw, I have a question, yesterday I prime95 my Q6600 @ 3.62Ghz and it ran fine except for the temperature. So I back down to 3.6Ghz. Now it will fail Prime95 and BSOD!!! This is the very first time that my system had a BSOD since I built it 3 days ago! This is strage.. Lower speed (3.6Ghz) is more instable than higher speed (3.62Ghz).. The problem is, @ 3.62Ghz my temperature was already @ 77C.. I don't know what the maximum temperature Q6600 can take but 77C is by any measure HOT!!

Hope someone can help me on this, too..

THX!!

Hey Yahon, did you enable Loadline calibration in the BIOS? Also set CPU GTL ref voltage and NB GTL ref voltage to 0.63 and 0.67 , they're right under loadline calibration.
Temp limit for Q6600 G0 is 71°c.

There is a 1003 BIOS (beta) knocking about Eric that does allow a various tRFC settings above 42. I'm just holding back at present waiting for the next official BIOS update before I flash.

Yeah, I think the 602 P5E bios has the same thing. I'm just waiting for it to become official. The previous 601 bios just got skipped right over.

But I did find out some good news. Xtreme forums members are claiming they can now backflash their bios (at least the most current ones)!

Hi guys,
I had tried every possible methods that everyone here in this thread had told me to do in order to achieve my RAM stock speed of DDR2 1000.. However, still no luck yet.. I manage to run my Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz.. I set the CPU voltage at BIOS to be 1.5125 but in windows, it is only registering as 1.456 and under Prime95 for 8 hours it only read at 1.41v.. This is VERY STRANGE.... Also, I am aware that my Maximus Formula had overvolt the ram by default of 0.04v right? I had set my RAM voltage to be 2.14v but it turned out to be 2.18v.. I had tried to add voltage to my RAM up till 2.3v and still no luck.. Well, this is strange and I am starting to give up.. Btw, this thread is a real great help and I hope that people continue to pour in information inside here..

Thanks

EDIT: Do someone here know why is it that sometime, each time I restarted my system, my monitor would display a strange resolution (1600x1200) whereas my optimum resolution is (1680*1050).. Is it because I am not applying enough power to my VGA card???

With a vdroop that big do you have Loadline calibration enabled?
No idea about resolution problem.
