Default [From XS] Turn your Maximus Formula into a Rampage Formula

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=179580

This looks like it has the potential to unlock the power of the Maximus Formula, which has been plagued by finicky BIOS issues from the start...

Big props to the guys who have done it! (Big cojones for sure!)

Well, it looks to be completely reversible...you just have to make sure you do everything right!

I'm still going to wait for more data and more successful cases before I even consider it...

I'm with you. I don't even like Beta BIOSes, let alone a Beta for a different board. Still, it does look tempting. Anyone here try it yet?

I would recommend you all get ahold of the Rampage Beta bios (cripple) and stash it away. Then when you are not getting anymore support for the Maximus Formula, you can flash to the beta Rampage. This will then give your board the Rampage bios string allowing you to flash to the newer Ramapage bios when they are released in the future.

And the reason why I suggest this is, ASUS might modify the next bios release to not cross flash anymore. Second, the engineering Ramapage bios might disapear completely along with any hopes of turning the Maximus Formula into the Rampage...

Chicken !! I have just flashed my Maximus to Rampage and WOW !!!!!!!The additional bios settings and stuff is just mind boggling !!!!!!!

It took me all of 15 minutes to do and I immediately pushed my clocks up to 3.8G and ram to 1234 megs..this on 800 ram..Timing tightened to 4-5-5-15 as well..AND IT POSTED AND BOOTED ! Im aware that everything is running hotter than before,so obviously voltages with the new bios is up..

Will check everything out shortly and post results..right now I just wanted to see the goodies unleashed.
Im going to have fun here !

Already done.... just in case enough evidence emerges that this is 100% safe
