I would save your money and go for a middle performer and then in a couple months when the price settles or they come out with a way to make it even faster then make that big purchase. I know quite a few people did some tests with it. I'll have to go find them.

B. it's a 4 gb kit.
and last and most importantly,

C. my wife said I could spend the money

Corsair Dominators 1800 C7's are good too http://www.legitreviews.com/article/539/9/
7-6-5-16 1T @ 1800 with 2.25v or 7-6-6-20 1T 1920mhz

The guy in that review was limited by his CPU too so i bet those sticks would do over 2000mhz

I am at the point of pacing back and forth waiting for my q9450 intel and the evga 790i board to arrive as well as the rest of the system, 2 day shipping and its day 3 arg

As for the guy saying they are waiting for the striker II extreme that thign is 470$ 120$ over the evga and the differences areminimal in stats. The bios most likely has some differences but for hardware minimal differences.

AND WOOOOO as I am writing this post fedex guy arived with the chip, UPS come on with board

i dont think so man... the only guy i know who likes his striker 2 xtreme is webwilli, and he said there ARE bios problems and fsb holes, and he hasnt tried an evga or other reference board.

i know 3 people who tried the asus and the ref boards and they all say the ref boards are definately better. one of them had 3 asus boards and 2 ref boards and he said the asus boards all had the typical striker xtreme issues of some settings working and then suddenly not working and then working again without actually changing anything but just rebooting.

i havent tried any 790 board yet, so this is all hear say... but after all the "not so good" things i heard about the asus board i will just get an evga i think.
Everyones different I guess and sometimes you get a few bad boards.

I might get some reasonably priced Ram for the time being.. Patriot 16000mhz 7-7-7-18

Interesting tho I would say give it a few weeks for all bios boards to be ironed out. But in the end I think I will be happy with the evga and so will others to the point the asus will sell porley tell they come up with a resanable price.

And again be carful that ram at 1600 is SLI ready stuff as not worth spending extra cash if its not going to run over 1333.
