Paul, did you find a decent guide/walkthrough for the genie bios, or are you just learning as you go along? I've got my rig up and running but the fans that came with the Cosmos move about as much air as a gnat fart... I've replace three of them w/ modded Sanyo denki san aces however the rear exhaust area would be too tight(for my liking) to place a 38mm fan there. Tangent aside, the board booted up fine for me on my first attempt and I am now burning in the AS5 w/ orthos... Keep us posted on how the Q6600 OCs.

Is that 2x2gb kit? If so, any issues w/ the mobo or OS? I have a 2x2gb kit but for now I'm using my old 2x1gb HZs which I will keep until I've made a follow up to my old e4300 perf charts.

I was planning on getting a 45nm quad when the prices become reasonable. However, I do not have any now.

2x2GB... No issues.

I am learning the BIOS as I go. I have a large Excel spread sheet that I keep every BIOS setting in as well as performance benchmarks. I don't have a ton of time to overclock, but when I do I tinker with a few settings and then log their effects on performance. This is the only thing I can do, as the BIOS is quite confusing with all the settings.

I have seen that before, just their system glitching. You will receive the package before it updates!

Actually, the bios isn't too difficult... *knock on wood*

The EZ clear feature works as advertised I've only had to use it once(as of yet). Currently I've gotten to 345 FSB on 1.39 vCORE. UGH I wish I had a worthy CPU(I pray those intel price cuts are spectacular or someone sells a used quad cheap here), nonetheless I hope to reach or exceed my previous max of 380FSB.

I'm really liking this board, it's every bit as fast as my QuadGT in SPI, actually so far it's proven to be 1/10th of a second faster in 1m runs between 2.7ghz-3.1ghz.

-Slightly OT-

Does 12496 pts in 3D mark 06 sound about right for an e4300 @ 3.1ghz and a stock 8800gts(G92)? Sorry, I'm a futuremark noob, I was too ashamed to run it when I had my good old 7600gt .

-Edit-

Booted up successfully @ 360FSB -> 1.44 vCORE

Gonna test for bench stability then prime95, assuming temps stay inline.

-EDIT- #2

360FSB was bench SPI32M and 3dmark06 stable...

Testing 370FSB now, ->1.47 vCORE; I think I may be applying more volts than is even needed ATM. I'm might just push my luck and shoot for 1.5vCORE and 400FSB if 370 is bench stable...

-EDIT- #3

370 -> 1.47 vCORE = reboot on 3dmark06 now trying with 1.488... I need a new CPU, I feel like that guy who has a Camaro and thinks he's bad arse even though it's a V6...

Oh well 370FSB + 1.488 vCORE has proven 100% bench stable, 3dmark06 is up to 12916... Gonna OC the GPU now, I'll try for 400FSB on a cold mourning.

You definitely do not need that vcore. I am 100% stable with a 39% overclock at a 1% voltage increase. 1.2825V for 3.33Ghz on a quad... your E4400 can do that too!

Thanks for the vote confidence, but these damn e4x00s were never meant for speed, whats worse is all e4300s are the old L2 stepping and not the newer M0(equivalent -> G0). 380 is relatively high FSB for any e4x00. I just hope I can pick up a q6600/x3220 in the near future for < $200.

I had always heard those E4400 were great overclockers. I guess they need a little bit of vcore to get the party started.

I wish I had DDR2-1000, my DDR2-800 CL5 is going to hold me back. I am currently running it at 888Mhz CL5-4-4-12, but I won't go any farther because of voltages (currently at 2.03V). I am eying a pair of DDR2-1000 CL5, but the stock voltage is to high (2.2V). I am pretty sure my memory can do 1000Mhz CL5 at 2.2V!

I'm happy to see more people running their quads @ 450x8. I personally feel a very noticable difference between 1600FSB (400x9) and 1800FSB (450x8).

45nm might be a viable option if Intel releases a revision this summer allowing for more voltage.
