the delta 6k fan is also 60mm, but 25mm thick whereas the first fan was only 13mm thick.

i use the trial version of everest to get motherboard temps, but the sensor seems to be more on par with temps near the memory than near the nb. i get nb temp with a temp prob on the side of the nb heatsink, from the scythe fan controller.

TIP: The newest version of everest can be DLed as a demo from their website, then get a key from crackdb.com and you'll have a version that'll read all the temps for this board correctly.


I'll post pics of how I mounted an 80mm fan to the NB between the vid card and NB when I get a sec. I'm telling you its easy though, just get some thin wire from the inside on a network cable and loop it thru the heatsink and fan and then twist it off with some plyers to secure it nicely and trim the ends, i think it looks quite good actaully.

does any one know where to get the latedt bios for this board, and can i use a flash drive to flash it ?

You can flash from a CD, there is instructions in the link.

All in the OP. You can use anything to flash it, as long as you can boot that device.

I have a kingston data traveler and bios gives me the option of setting it as
1st boot device so it should work huh?

ive been reading up on e8400 voltages and batches etc, and got a stable 4ghz thx to this thread.

that should be fine linked, but for 1066 I would recommend running it unlinked at 1066. I know Im at 1750 FSB QDR which equates to 425 FSB and runs my RAM at 850MHz (425x2) so you running at 1780 is actually underclocking your 1066 to around 875MHz or so...

If your having stability issues with the 1780 setting and your already at the max voltage for the cpu Id say your going to have to lower it til its stable...

Not all cpu's OC the same, and yours may not be able to hit the higher OC.
