Also, whats the vcore and other settings at for 3.6 with the 6700? I'm gonna pick up an HB pencil for the vdroop mod, but wondered what settings ill be looking at. Thanks in advance!

*EDIT* ok, nevermind, I need to learn to read the first page, lol...
get a 6B not HB... Higher graphite content will work better.. If you use a HB, dont be shy, just shading. It takes quite a bit..

I have .008 vdroop after shading with a HB.....

My new WC setup is working very nicely tho :-)

although with those kind of temps at 3.5 and 1.38v your going to need high end water cooling or lapping + high end air cooling for 1.48v.
soooo... i got it to boot up at 3.70GHz but i needed 1.5Vcore in BIO's but it crashed urring the first part of the 3dmark test lol

that sucks man... I would think a Q6600 with 1.20 VID would be a much better overclocker... Maybe these newer binned chips just dont OC well regardless of VID...

Its strange you cant even get to 3.6....

you probably already listed it, but what are your othe settings...

Voltages.... is your ram linked/sync mode..... what timings......????

could be another setting you missed.. Have you browsed through my guide to double check everything is enabled/disabled? I took pics of all the bios screens...

BTW, you guys know that the max thermal threshold on those q6x00 is 1.55v not 1.50v. 1.50v is just the max VID that a chip will be shipped.

I've just figured out where to look and thought I'd share this. page 17

good info Pizza.... You DA man!! I hopefully will see this cpu I bought soon and will keep this in mind when trying to push the limits....

Hey, whats the chance i can find one of those min VID chips.. Q6600 VID -0.3 LOL

And what about the storage temp 85c? Whats that deal, making sure nobody stores them in an oven....

haha

Page 21 of that spreadsheet describes VCC Overshoot, and shows typical Vcc overshoot of .050v on idle to load transitions, which would give you a voltage spike to .050 above your voltage setting every time the cpu goes from idle to load.... 1.50 would keep it at the spec'd 1.55, at a setting of 1.55 it would spike to 1.60

Min VID is .85v as stated here.

Good luck finding one, just like good luck finding one shipped with 1.5v.

umm i believe it was

Vcore: 1.52

FSB: 1.30
Mem: was auto, 1.9V
SPP: was auto i think it was like 1.40 or 1.50(im lean towereds 1.4)
and the last one was auto

the C1e is turned on, i did notdisable it,

i think really the only things i turned off was the IDE things.

ill have to rety turning off the C1E and the Speed step thing(where is that?)

C1E is Speedstep. Some board have them labeled as one or the other.

Though, shouldn't really mater as far as stability goes. Your either stable or your not. Speedstep shouldn't effect stabilty.

^^ agreed, the speed step/cie should not effect stability.

Limit CPU Value? maybe maybe not, I have it all disabled on that page "CPU Feature"

except the cores of course.

CPU Spread Spectrum is disabled on mine as well as the others.

PCI-E Freq is set to 100.

CPU FSB is set to 1.4v and SPP is set to 1.5... the 1.3v on your FSB could use a bump, I have not had any issues running it at those settings.

My ram is set to 2.15v (default is 2.1 with 2.2 allowed if OC'd on OCZ Ram) stock timings.

Have you done a bios update, just to be sure you are running the latest?

the .iso can be burned to a disc and flash from disc by making it the first boot drive..
