EVGA 750i FTW Overclock Thread

Strange results from testing last night @ 2000FSB. I set my multi to 6x and ran 2000FSB QDR @ stock voltages on the ram (set to 800mhz 5-5-5-15) and the cpu. I set NB voltage @ 1.45v, SPP @ 1.45v, and NF200 @ 1.4v.

I was able to run 99 loops of the crysis bench, 6 hours of Orthos Large FFTs and 6 hours of Prime 95 Blend for 6 hours without a single hitch.

But just chilling and trying to browse forums, mozilla is crashing.

What gives?

Weird, have you played with any other browsers? Maybe try reinstalling FF.

When I was first trying to get a stable overclock on this board I was having a similiar problem, I was passing OCCT and Prime but I would be browseing the internet and my system would just lock up ;l More vcore seemed to fix it.

Spent yesterday getting this cpu stable at 3.6 for 24/7 use. Did some benching today..

This was at 1.52v windows.

Can you do a run in XP?

It would improve your score considerably I think, even though it doesn't mean much, just bragging rights ;x

yeah I know... I just dont feel like installing XP just to run a bench.....


Funny too, I hated Vista at one point, now I swear by it

Im just having some fun with this new chip and W/C setup... My last one couldnt even pass 3dmark @ 3.6 with 1.55v bios so... Im going too shoot for a 4.0 run next time.

Yeah same here, I only have XP installed for benching, I actualy removed it up untill two days ago when my internet decided to crap out on me

I wish that 3.6ghz run I did was stable, i've gone all the way up to 1.6v on this chip with no luck I can't wait to get my loop set up too for some real suicide runs, good luck with the 4ghz, keep us updated

BTW guys. Sometimes when overclocking and trying to get stable we can corrupt a windows file making it unstable, with all the hardware failures during stress testing cpu's and gpu's. It doesnt happen often, but I know if your getting lockups with no shutdowns or blue screens its probably windows. Usually hardware failure will get the blue screen or windows will shut off to prevent damage.

At least 95% of the time for me it reboots when hardware failure, windows lockups will just leave a frozen screen.

Just something to think about before adding more and more voltage...

I am 13+ hours OCCT stable, but have gotten the ocassional lockups, so I am going to reinstall a fresh copy, its about time to anyway, wayyyyy way to much space taken up on my C drive...


PS: Anyone know how to save all favorites from firefox? Its the biggest headache to try and remember them all...

Bookmarks - organize bookmarks - import and back up

Had to do it myself the other day

Oh and about corruption and overclocking, If I try for 4ghz it says my boot files are corrupt or it can't find them

Sweet, I never even thought of looking there....


I have not tried for 4.0 yet.. gona wait til after the reformat and do it on a clean copy and see what I can get for a score....
