Default E8400 Wolfdale me Too

I don't think what I did is standard procedure but I used the fsb to drive the RAM vs just unlinking and setting the RAM speed. At 1777 FSB I get 1066 Speed from my G Skill 1066 Ram. This also yields a 3.99ghz OC. I'll be testing tonight for stability seems to work fine for games at least so far.

I am a long time EVGA i750 FTW user. I setup a RAID 0 (2 HDs) when I got the board and I found something very annoying. The Nvidia nForce chipset RAID 0 (fake raid) isn't very efficient. It slowed down my system whenever I exited from a big application (i.e. PC game). The whole system seem to freeze for a few seconds before it could response my actions. Do you all have the same experience???

From what I've been seeing this appears to be normal for hardware raid. If you want real raid performance you need a raid controller card.

I have always had that problem. The nvidia RAID is not the most efficent but seems to have a very high transfer speed vs RAID/Non-RAID with my HDD's.

can you please provide the GTLVREF lane values you used for 3825 (8.5x450) on the q9550? im sitting at 1.352vcore and spp 1.55 and 1.4vfsb and prime stable but some times it still messes up. my GRLVREF lanes are currently all 0+mv.

thx!

**edit** because of that instability i reverted to 8.5*444 to lower the fsb a bit and get 3777mhz. At that config I could lower my SPP to 1.5 and my vfsb to 1.35 and be rock solid. GTLVREF lanes still at 0+mv for all

For 45nm quads, I heard +50 on the GTL lanes is a good starting point.

I have the 750i from XFX, but not FTW. What's the difference?

i found that +50mv on lanes 0 and 2, and +35mv on lanes 1 and 3 worked for 6+ hrs on occt. go with what pizzaman said but i would start at +30mv on all 4 lanes then test. if the test fails bump up the correct lane for whichever core it was that failed. so if core 0 or 1 fail then bump lanes 0 and 2 up +5mv and if core 2 or 3 fails then bump lanes 1 and 3 up +5mv. retest after each adjustment. what you are looking for is a sweet spot range of volts for the gtlref lanes. once you pass like 2hrs occt or 4 to 6 hrs prime95 then bump all the lanes between 15 to 25mv and do a long test (like 6+ hrs on occt or 10 to 14 hrs on prime95) to see if you are really stable. then once you pass that you can work on lowering volts. i used to have my vcore at 1.35 but now have it down to 1.3 and have also lowered my fsb down. now my temps are in control which is good cause its starting to get hot and muggy here in iowa and i hit 72C one day when i was vid encoding which is waaaay too hot for my taste. now they barely hit the high 50's.
