veblen, if you can't get it to work, you cuold try talking with EVGA and nicely tell them how you where plugging in your drive and the connector broke. They may not completely honor your RMA, but you may be able to get them to fix it for you for pretty cheap. BTW, 1066A.D. FTW

Thanks for all the quick responses! I think I pulled the connector clean off, i.e. the little L-shaped thing that used to be in the motherboard's sata port is stuck in my sata cable. I took a look at the pins and they don't seem to be touching each other. Unfortunately, it's still stuck at the FF code. I will keep trying with just the cpu, heatsink and one stick of ram.

That's the first thing I did. And I've been doing it repeatedly since. Still no luck...I'll remove everything, reseat the cpu/heatsink, and test it again tomorrow. I've spent the last 4 hours trying to fix my foolish mistake...can't believe I killed my motherboard.

Can anyone tell me where I can read the actual Northbridge temps. I am running the latest version of everest and I think I should be looking at the SPP temp but it never seems to change much between 51 idle and 54 load. I have a 60mm fan on the nb blowing up heatsink but I am stressing at 1.55v on the NB. I think that 51-54c is a little low for a NV chipset at max voltage??

I run the SPP at 1.55v all the time with a 60mm fan. Temps never go above 48C full load. idles around 42C. I guess I got lucky with mine.

I'm back again trying to OC this dang CPU to 4ghz.
Here's what I've done so far: Quote:
CPU vcore: 1.3625 FSB: 1780 QDR, 445mhz FSB voltage: 1.30 nForce SPP: 1.45 nf200: 1.4 Ram frequency: 890 mhz Ram voltage: 1.9 Timings: 6-6-6-18 2T Still testing, pointers would be helpful.

First of all you can't just randomly change GTLs and hope it will make your system stable. Check out the link in my sig for adjusting GTL. It will take you a while, but it's very rewarding if done right.
Another suggestion, is to lower your CPU multi and see if you can make sure the board is stable. A lot of ppl have gotten good results with 1800QDR. Run your GTL tests with a stable OC!
