EVGA 750i FTW Overclock Thread

Woot just got mine in the mail today and have it up and running. No overclocking as of yet, but it actually seems to be running cooler at stock than the P5N-D. Temps are idling at 40C, which for this chip is awesome in my experince, usually closer to 42. So maybe I'll be able to squeeze a few more GHz out of this one. Also, using the Zalmans paste so that could be the difference as well.

BTW forgot to add 1800 is 450, on this mobo. Quad pumped for life. lol

FSB hole from h***.. seems to be for me at the moment 1600-1800 (or 400-450) is the no post zone...
Still running 4x1024, fedex will be bringing my 2x2048 today so I hope that helps.....

Tried 1800 (450x8) with a steaming 1.5vcotr and BSOD....

Anyone else having this issue with it not posting in th 1700 range....
@ 1600 (400x8) stable as a rock now

Went back to x9 multi got it posting now. went for 3.42 (380x9) but error even with 1.48v so Im just waiting for the 2x2gb and try again..

On the bright side, running my 4x1gb OCZ DDR2 800 @ 900MHz and 4-4-4-15 2T... Thats a big improvement in numbers from previous board even tho it doesnt equate to a big real world performance gain, but better is better.

it must be the 4 dimms of RAM.

i'm running 2x2GB (which seems to be the sweet spot for RAM right now) and I am running stable 450x8 (3.6GHz) with 1.41875vcore

what brand of RAM are u waiting on?

OCZ SLI 6400 - Ive always been quite fond of ocz, + it can over volt to 2.3 and still be covered under warranty.

is tha 1.418 in bios? Whats your VID? mine is 1.3125 so its a bit of a volt hog thus far...

yeah that's BIOS voltage. VID is 1.12500. Guess i got lucky =)

4.0GHz 24/7 would be oh so nice

SZ17 Bios update fixed 1700 FSB hole/wall Im testing at 425x8 as I type... also noticed a tad less vdroop than before..... yaay evga, I am very happy with the response time on issues with this board.. . two thumbs up (with fingers crossed)

Have been battleing this OC all afternoon, 3.20 and 1.45v is all Ive gotten stable so far... even with new 2x2GB ram..... linked n synced now with 425x8 and 850MHz ram (auto timmings)

3.40 - 425x8 .... Ram unlinked @ 800MHz 5-5-5-15 .....

vcore 1.46 windows - 1.4825 bios - temps 63/63/58/58

volts a tad high for my liking, but still under 1.5 with temps within reason so Im gona roll with it 24/7

may try to get the mem timings tighter now

run that SZ17 bios update... there is a bootable .iso for cdrom... just be sure to load optimal defaults in bios, then disable floppy on first bios screen, and set cd as 1st boot device...

It helped me tremendously in stability...
