SPP - 1.45
NF200 - 1.4

Any ideas on what I can do to stabilize this @ 4.0?
Thanks
try this and let us know how it goes...

If not stable, back down the OC til it is, and you have found max safe 24/7 OC.. Bench at highest you can I always say, but for regular use, these are what id say are you max voltage...

Vcore - 1.36
FSB - 1.4
RAM - 2.3
SPP - 1.5
NF200 - 1.4

Also try messing with your ram... maybe set it at cas 5 and stock MHz til cpu is stable.. you could be hitting a wall with it as well.. need to seperate cpu/mem OCing so you know max of each

Noticed a lot of people are using DDR800 in their setup, on newegg it says the board takes DDR1066?

I'm just about ready to buy my set up and don't want to use memory that won't even work with the board ( looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146785 for my set up)

Thank you, 10acjed...however, now I've run into a more serious problem. I got my oc up to 3.825Ghz with the voltages as follows...

Vcore - 1.275
FSB - 1.3
Ram - 2.3
SPP - 1.3
NF200 - 1.2

That was only stable enough to load windows and when I tried to burn some files onto a dvd, it locked up. I restarted and since I needed to quickly burn those files, I went into bios and set everything back to default and restarted. Since then, I haven't been able to get windows to load with anything I do. I'm starting to worry that maybe I overvoltaged something when I was attempting 4.0Ghz...I just don't know why it would stop working after switching back to stock everything.

Okay, an update to my last post...when I set everything back to "stock" settings, I went to "load fail-safe defaults", which I guess was wrong for some reason. After tinkering with bios a little more, I went to "load optimized defaults" and that seemed to do the trick. I'm back in windows now, but haven't tried to overclock any further yet. I'll let you guys know how everything goes.

ok i think i have a hole in my overclocks. doesnt want to seem to post at all at about the 1500 mark x8 mult.
i heard others say that this is fixed in a bios update so i downloaded the iso and ran it. it said it completed successfully then when i roboot it freezes on the post again to where ihave to open my case up and hit the cmos reset button. does this mean my bios flash failed? is there any way to check what bios version your running?

which screen does it freeze at? and have you been able to get past it? Was it set to "Load Optimized Defaults" before the bios flash?

voltages are too low....
see above post or page one of this thread for voltage settings... the 45nm cpu can go up to 1.36v, but i recommend 1.35 for 24/7

ok so i got the flash done (thanks 10acjed)

but now when i'm in the middle of small tasks i get a blue screen
its not like the normal ones i get which are BSOD
its only about two lines and it says that my hardware has failed and to contact the manufacturer.

when i boot back up tho it works fine untill i'm doing something important like installing a program, then it has the same issue. It cant be a temperature thing because i checked it and it said max it was getting at was 47c.

think its the new bios? i'm going to go back to sz17 for a while and see if i have the same issue.

sz17 have been the best for me...

And anytime doing bios updates, be sure to load defaults.. dont leave your OC settings.

the blue screens can still be being caused by a bad bios update...

If i were you id look into RMAing the board... or post something over at the evga forums about your issue...

the FSB hole was from 1600-1800 and was fixed with the sz17 bios.
And remember E8400 users.. Just because others have, does not mean yours will...
Find a safe, stable OC and stick with it.
