Default Hey

I am not sure it is just EVGA and the FTW series with this video problem. Just go to EVGA forrums and look up any bios update for the 750i. You will see people complaining all the time. I have seen people all say it is in all the 700 series boards. This is why I say it may not just be EVGA. Something to do with the Nvidia part. I have had only one issue. I think. May have just been the video feed. Most of the You Tube that I have seen looks kinda like a matrix theme. With green lines running down in it. This was for video. As far as during games the only time I have that issue is if my cards are overclocked to much.

the buggy things that i have read about were problems with RAID setups, which was solved with bios updat, and this video corruption issue which I have not seen..
As for overclocking, the bug was a FSB hole between 1600-1800 on mine, which was solved with bios update...

So, bios updates do fix most bugs. But AFAIK most motherboards, especially new released boards, will have bios updates... Also if boards are released befor newer cpu's, it will require updates for cpuid...

the good part is, evga bios updates are simple... burn .ISO to cd, boot from cd, and it does the rest...

I have bios SZ17. Had no problem at all overclocking. I had several problems with raid. Come to find out it was due to user stupidity. LOL. I swear I read the online manual several times. I had the wrong sata plugins enabled. When I tried one more time I used my manual that I had and said hey those are not the ones I was using. My buddy had problems with installing Vista with his. Not sure why. He had to flash to the g version of this bios. The only thing I can think of was due to he got the brand spanking new E8600. From what I here it should not have been that.

On the video part like I said I may have had one thing. However I will lean towards more not. I think that the video issue I encountered was due to the downfead. Froze. The second time I played it I did not have issues. The only thing that may have changed there was full screen vs no full screen. Who knows. Howeve so far I have not seen the video glitch. Knock on wood. Sometimes I wonder if the problem is because of some software they downloaded that does not like the video part. That or some people do not keep there drivers up to date. I try to check every few months for new drivers. Especially on Video Cards.

Updated to SZ1H BIOS, with CPU Fast Read enabled, and the problem seems to have gone away...for now. Keeping my fingers crossed!

And it's not a driver issue. I have the latest 177.83 WHQL drivers from NVIDIA, and I uninstalled/reinstalled twice using DriverCleaner Pro AND DriverSweeper. Before the 750i FTW, no problems, after installing 750i, video corruption happened after about a week. Like I said, though, it seems to have gone away. I just hope it stays gone!

I wasnt saying this was the case for everyone. I was just saying some people problems are that. Depending on your set up it differs for everyone. If they could just nail down what then maybe they could find a fix all. I have had no problems yet. I am running newer cards also. Maybe this helps. I am no expert. I just know there is answer somewhere in the vast cpu universe.

Default Hey

Ok. My system is pretty good to go. However My buddy is having problems. He is running almost identical system except for hard drive, video cards, cpu cooling, dvd roms, and of course cpu.

He has the E8600. On recommendations I told him to try the same volts as mine. Exception is to slowly move up his FSB. He gets to about 3.6 and is hot at 65. Now I am running air and he has water cooling on his cpu. I know people have gotten it up to 4 easy. Some people are saying just by front side bus only. Their motherboards are different. Any suggestions or hard facts I could pass on. He is thinking about trying to rma and go with the E8500.

THEDDLE

the video corruption would it also mean that your windows media player keep freezing?

Unless you're going to go tri sli, why would you need 3 pci e's

Media Player was one thing I saw. Some people said by using another player solved it. Some did not. So I dont know.

3 PCI E's? Where did that come from.
