This is to go along with the 750i FTW Overclocking thread - Follow the other thread for more variations of OC settings, modding and discussion. I just wanted to have a guide to show ppl where to find settings in bios here.
This is on a Q6600 If you find my settings an error or that they dont need to be changed feel free to let everyone know, I wont be offended *note* pics are 1600x1200 so beware....... Only thumbs here tho. The Clock frequencies, voltages and mem timings are for my set up. Use what you find best for your setup.. *details on where to start at bottom. Start in the advanced bios ......This is how I set it up, I disable everything, just cause it doesn’t do anything but cut back on power when not being used. If Im not using it I just shut down. ![]() Next is the Advanced Chipset Feature ![]() Under Spread spectrum you can disable the cpu spread spectrum ![]() In the PC Health Status We find our fan control ![]() Heat is the enemy, lets crank them up for now ![]() Now the meat n potatoes ![]() here is where we find our OC settings ![]() so I dont fry another vid card, I stay at 100 here ![]() here is where we adjust FSB, if you notice above your adjustment the cpu clock will change when you hit enter. Also you find your desired FSB-RAM ratio. linked n synced is my sweet spot. But for first time OC Id suggest leaving it on auto and set to your rams clock ie: 800-1066-1200 OC that once cpu is stable *these are my settings, yours may be different you will find them by trial and error ![]() Now for your mem timings, I just set mine to factory defaults manully, cause aouto will send them through the roof ![]() Set your cpu clock ratio to enable, many of us have been getting good results at 8x ![]() Adjust your voltages to where you need them ![]() And last but deffinately not least We are going to save as profile 1 and hit enter ![]() ![]() Finally F10 will ask you to sav and exit ![]() And you have begun the process. **NOTE!!** I do not recommend you go into your bios and mimic my settings, each board/chip is diff. And I suggest you start at 1.325v FSB @ 1333 with a 9x multi and go from there. On a 9x multi I raised my FSB 25 at a time.. ie: 1333-1350-1375-1400 On a 8x multi you can go 50 safely 1333-1350-1400-1450- And run at least a good 1-2hr cpu test of OCCT.... When it fails bump the voltage up a bit Sorry for the long drawn out instructions, just felt we could use it here... PLEASE do not quote this post ![]()

hey how do you guys know what clock speed to select depending on what voltage you guys have it set to. like lets say with my q9450 i want it set to 3.0ghz how do i know what voltage to use? if 1.3625 is my limit voltage how can i tell what is my limit clock speed is. is their an equation to know. does this motherboards bios kinda give us tips and tells us which one works with which voltage with the green and red stuff? i have not gotten this motherboard yet i get it tommorow but i am just curious how i will know this? thank you all.

also what is the pencil mod for? is it if the voltages in xp are lower then what the motherboard specified. do most of these 750i evga mobo have this problem? if my new one does should i do the pencil mod or should i take precaution before i do it?

All board, with few exceptions have Vdrop. I did the pencil mod so my voltages would be closer to what I set in bios. You can compensate for it, but IMO it is a pain and easier to do the pencil mod.

the other voltages are for advanced settings.. I leave them on auto, Ive tried messing with them to help get stable at 3.6 but no luck...
