Default Biostar: Thoughts?

Does anybody have anything good to say about this motherboard brand?

I'm looking at this Biostar P45 board, but want to know if it's quality, and can OC well.

All advice appreciated.

Does the aforementioned Biostar mobo support full x16 and x16 Crossfire, or is it just x8 and x8? This "review" (or whatever it is) says it only supports x8 and x8, but newegg says ( i think) it supports full x16 and x16.

Thoughts?

The last two boards I've bought have been Biostar (TA770 A2+ and TPower N750), and I'm pretty impressed with their quality. As far as the TPower I45 that you're looking at, it just came out, so there isn't too much info on it yet.... but you can check here for more:

http://www.rebelshavenforum.com/sis-...3;t=000183;p=1

And according to the specs on the Biostar site:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/...t.php?S_ID=365

.... it looks like Crossfire is x8 and x8. Hope that helps.... good luck with your decision!

I've owned a biostar tf-560 am2 board before and it was a great overclocking board. I was impressed by the quality for the price. So I would say biostar is a good brand to consider

Also, does anybody have anything to say about ECS, or Elitegroup (which I understand are the same company)?

I should have titled this thread "Good But Lesser Known Mobo Brands" or something...in truth, I am doing just that: trying to find good quality intel motherboards that aren't ASUS, or DFI, or Gigabyte, though I realize that such brands are popular for a reason.

I'd take Biostar over ECS any day. While I've only used one of their boards for a socket 478 build, they have quite the reputation even for a "budget board" manufacturer.
