Just curious.
Well, running 500MHz for fsb, 400MHz strap, ram is at 1,000MHz and timmings are 5-5-5-15-3-30, have twister at strongest and mem perf. at 10 right now with all pull in's enabled(not sure if I really need them or not).

Starting to get it where I need it to, just have to tinker a bit more.

Are those ram PC-6400 or higher and what is the timing?

Have you tried to set timing to 4-4-4-12, "Common Performance Level" to 7 and "Clock Twister to strong or strongest?

Ok, I see.

If you have set Common Performance Level (PL) to 10 in BIOS and all Pull ins you are close to tRD 9 but with FSB 500, 400 strap and ram@1000 5-5-5-15 you should be able to reach tRD (PL) 8, Clock Twister strong or strongest and no Pull ins.

Pull ins are inteeded to use when you canīt reach next lower tRD.

Ex: You canīt reach tRD 8, then you set tRD 9 in BIOS and try to enabled so many Pull ins you can and try to reach close to tRD 8 to squeeze out more performance.

Ordering this mobo on monday. Wondering what memory I should go with (8Gb).. I'm gonna overclock a little but not too extreme, no watercooling. The cpu will probably be a quad 9450 or 9550 (9650 if I'm lucky). I'm gonna buy a cheap ****ty gfx card for now and later on buy 2x 4870x2. Also I'm a little lost when it comes the the power supply. Any suggestions to oc-friendly memsticks and psupply would be great!

It's PC-8000, timing is 5-5-5-15. I have clock twister on strong, but I haven't really messed with changing the timings (I'm very unknowledgable on overclocking RAM, especially latencies and "pull-ins". Does it require more voltage to do this?) I'll give it a shot. I know I can't set to tRD 7 with a 450FSB until I have a CAS of 4, per the Anandtech charts.

Ok thanks for the tip man, and yea I am at 9 from PL 10 with the pullins enabled. I've tried to drop it somemore but it doesn't seem to want to. I have been able to adjust some of the other timmings and get some more out of it and I put it back to 333MHz strap for NB. I had to up my NB voltage though to get it stable with PL 10 and I tried 9 and 8 and no matter what I couldn't get it to Det Dram, but I'm not sure what most can push the PL to.

I'm goiung to try messing with the pull ins somemore though, It actually gave me 5 phases for each after I hit PL 9 so not sure if I just need to find the right sequence or what.

But all in all I am starting to figure this bad boy out and hopefully I can start finalizing my settings.

You just have to watch but the main reason some say that is due to it running looser timmings when in 2GB dimms but if you get some of the good ones you can still find 4-4-4-12 timmings even on 2GB dimms and some lower. But if you intend to oc them then having the tighter timmings is usually a sign that you will have some oc headroom as compared to a 2GB dimm running 5-5-5-18 timmings all ready.

And I think that is the latest according to Asus but I am running 0406, but it isn't listed on the Asus website or I couldn't find it at least on there.

You probably have to push ram to 2,20 - 2,30 and NB to 1,55 - 1,65 to reach tRD 7 @ CAS 4.

Have you tried to set ram to 1080 (strap 333, 5:6) 5-5-5-15 tRD7 Clock Twister Strong, it should perform better then 900 (1:1) 5-5-5-15 tRD 8 Strong.
