Yes, I know itīs hard to find G.Skills in Sweden, I live there myself, westcoast, nere Gothenborg. Check Komplett.se for OCZ Reaper, good price, 999sek for 2x2Gb or Corsair DominatorPC-8500 2x2Gb (with fan) 1050sek. You should be able to reach ~900 4-4-4-12 or ~1150 5-5-5-15. You can also check with Datorbutiken but the price are similary.

Yeah, I can't get to my computer to post when I pull CAS down to 4. That's with 2.12V though, I haven't tried upping the RAM voltage yet. Will give that a try next. Haven't tried that too. I know it's only rated for 1000 mhz, and I tried bumping it up to 1066 a while ago with no POST. Then again, the voltage was just as low. I really need to read up on memory overclocking, it's my weakest area..

I have Antec 900 and itīs well ventilated, some do think itīs to noisy even at low fan speed but I think itīs ok. Antec 1200 is a bigger version of the 900, more room inside, I thinking of get one for myself. You have Lian Li PC-P60, PC-P80 ArmorSuit, nice cases. Corsair 1000W PSU are a good one as I mention before. Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB seems to be a good one, Samsung, Seagate or WD are all good ones, you canīt go wrong if you choose one of them.

also i can't directly translate your settings because your q6600 has a 9x multiplier which is a big difference from my 8 due to the fact that most of my oc's require fsb ocing and not so much cpu ocing (in other words much different nb settings). i tried playing around with my northbridge voltages, pll voltages, fsbt voltages but still can't find a stable setting. also, even after some researching i am a little confused as to exactly what the pll voltage, fsbt voltage, and gtl ref voltages are and what they should be at with a q9450 at 3.4-3.5ghz....... ![]() anyone with a q9450 and this mobo that has their quad above 3.5ghz stable, i would greatly appreciate seeing what your bios settings are

Sorry jumped in at the tail end here. You are running 800mhz ram at what speed? Not only that 4x1 gb could also be the issue.
__________________Also your ram timings should be left at auto and not tightened up until you have established a stable OC. The most common stable OC for a Q9450 is 3.4 ghz (8x450). Anything beyond that needs a big bump in vcore for results. 1.350 in the bios will not be enough for beyond 3.4 regardless. Also, I would suggest you disable LLC. It has been shown to cause issues with 45nm processors. The 45nm quads are rated by intel as safe at up to 1.3650 volts. When you factor in vdroop in windows, thats about 1.31.

![]() alright yeah good point ill loosen up my timings and see if thats the problem. but wait so i need over 1.3v to get past 3.4ghz? damn.......sounds like ill be going water sooner than i thought. but wait so do you mean the common oc is 3.4 ghz or 3.6 cause 8x450 is 3.6.......just want to make sure cause i don't wanna try and do something stupid haha.

I misspoke, 3.6 is very hard to attain while 3.4 is almost always attainable with the Q9450.
__________________Its that low multi that works against you (as you pointed out earlier). As you stated back, definitely loosen your timings on your ram before going any further with the cpu (leave all ram settings on auto for now). regarding cpu vcore, you will definitely need to push it higher. Given that you have a TRUE, you may not need water but you will definitely ceiling out pretty quick without a high vcore (which is more delicate with the 45nm chips).

These are the sticks I have in my machine (aren't they sexy?) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231174

I am running 3.6 stable with no issues, but it requires greatly increasing your voltages like some people have said. I went from VCore 1.2X to 1.37 (LLC enabled) and my NB voltage is at 1.54V (minimum I need for stable 3D gaming.) You may need less NB voltage depending on your system. I can probably reduce my VCore a bit, especially since I have LLC on now. I will post my full specs when I get home in a few hours. Quote:
