I am just wondering since the Maximus II Formula can do this and since my board is installed I have no way to check.

Marin, first of all nice setup, you can push that Q6600 to 3.6Ghz with your TRUE in push/pull config and to answer your question, I believe no you can't the Rampage Formula looks like the SB and NB are connected to the same heat sync via a heat pipe and the Rampage Extreme can because of the separate pieces. But I could be wrong.

EDIT: just read a review on the Rampage Extreme, is it worth it to upgrade to that lol

NB/SB is all one piece on the Rampage Formula... the VRM/MOSFET cooler is a seperate piece despite looking like it's connected.

So unless you replace the cooler on the NB and SB at the same time, you can't have one without the other. Realistically, a small air cooler (really small if you have crossfire btw) for the SB is enough, it doesn't really get all that hot, and then you can put whatever waterblock you can fit onto your NB.

Good call. You won't be disappointed. (Unless the open box only contains a few random nuts and bolts and the manual)

Yes, for $205 you're getting a great board. I paid close to $300 for it unfortunately.

Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

And when you have learn to tweak this board you gonna love it.

You might also consider to upgrade to a 45nm CPU because most of them have more cache then the 65nm and that inproves performance, specially if you do play games.

Hi Guys,

I've been attempting to run 500fsb (can reach 520 x 7) with my q6600. The strangest thing happens when I go over 490fsb. The BIOS disables 2 cores on my Q6600. The 2 remaining cores run fine. I've tried every BIOS version and it does the same on every one. Has anyone else come across this? Is this another one of Asus' "features"? Cos it's really annoying- I'd prefer it to work or not work, rather than leave me with half a proc and false hope!

Here's a pic:

I dunno about 520x7. Have you tried 450x8? That should give you a solid 3.6 on this board.
