Yeah that's actually pretty decent.

I had a peek at bios revisions asus has put up, when is Asus going to fix their poor website design?

870 4-4-4-12 Stronger tRD7@2,28v, NBv 1,61.

They was in A2 B2 slot.

Not bad but not to good either and maybe I could reach higher on an other board, maybe ~1160 CAS5 or ~925 CAS4.

This was done with BIOS 0407, with 0408, 0410 or 0601 I could not reach 1125 or 1140.

It could be that the newer set are using different ICs or something. But I had quite a few people PM me about issues with the ram. This has been within the past 3 weeks that I have seen this issue.

It wont load long enough to let me do anything... it keeps giving me a CMOS err and then i clear the CMOS and it does it again. I'm going to my friends house to use his PSU and see if maybe its my PSU. Other than that i dont know what to do. Maybe i will use his ram and see if that is my problem too.

I do know that on these boards the Default is 800 for the ram, so i imagine that is what my ram is set to.

Even with relaxed settings on the Dominators, the boards would not run stable, or even boot for some. They tried the below and still nothing:
5-5-5-18 2T
tRFC: 70
Static Read: Disable
Ai Clock Twister: Lighter
Transaction Booster (tRD): 10

As soon as they switched to different ram, the board ran fine.

I'll get back to you on it. I have to PM a few of the OCN members who had the issues to find out.

so maybe if i relax the timmings of the ram from 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-15 i can get Booster of 7.

is it Booster at 7 more important than memory timmings??

Well the best way to find out would be to bench them. Personally I think the CL=4 configuration would win.

You canīt reach tRD7 if you go with CAS5, probably you have to go tRD9 with FSB 475 ram 950 5-5-5-12.

They are equal in my opinion.

To gain performace with Intel chipset you should go with any other ratio then 1:1 and as high MHz and low timing on those ram as possible.

OK, well i took everything out of the case and hooked it up on a bench... and everything seems to work now. What does this mean? Something wrong with my case?....

I'm also not using that surge protector anymore... maybe it could not handle the 750 watt PSU???

Nevermind... i plugged it into the surge protector and it booted fine... must be my wiring in the cage??

Could it have been the extra motherboard standoffs that were not needed??

Any advice?
