seconded, basically the only thing i use now, run around 25-50 loops which is A LOT shorter than P95 7+ hrs

Intel burn test got my cores up to 41 ! and all 4 cores reached that temp. How many loops should i run before i can consider my system "stable" ? I ran 50 loops, about how long does that take to run?

50 passes should run an hour, give or take. And is kind of overkill. 10 is sufficient. Then again I've recently learned IBT doesn't use a very good test pattern; it could definitely be improved.

I'm absolutely positive of this: Sometimes a IBT stable OC, is proven unstable by other tests so it's not the beginning and the end of all CPU stability tests.

Nobody suggested that it was. (In fact, I suggested it wasn't. Linpack wasn't designed as a stress test in the first place, but a benchmark!) But it's very good at helping you dial in an OC much faster.

The fact that nobody was directly suggesting it is the reason my post was a general statement, not directed at anyone's post in particular.

So is anyone having luck with bios 701? It supposedly allows higher OCs on quads but I don't have a quad to test this. There's a stickied thread on the asus forums here.
