One is taken up by my DVD burner and the second DVD burner is just taking up space since I don't have a 7th port. My old board was lacking in a lot of areas, but it had a separate Raid chip with 2 extra ports.

So, I guess I will have to bite the bullet and buy a raid card. Not that I didn't know that when I made the purchase...

Ah yes, the SATA DVD thing. I forgot about that, I'm still using the IDE legacy DVD stuff. Then again, I don't have a whole lot of HDD's like you do, so either way wouldn't matter to me. What was your last board?

I upgraded from a Gigabyte P35-DS3R. The BIOS had so few settings compared to this one. I have to wonder how much more I would have gotten out of my CPU if had this board to begin with. I also had an E6750 which easily went to 3.8GHz and I was never able to get my ram up to the rated speed.

I'm leaving for a long weekend starting tomorrow morning, so I can't do much exploring until next week. I wish I had solved the SATA thing sooner so I could have started burning in my new CPU.

We have ignition!

Despite having a few minor issues on first boot by locking up on the detmem code which was remedied by installing 1 stick of RAM and booting, then another stick NOT in dual channel, then another stick and then finally another stick. It works fine now, very odd if you ask me. Either way, everything since then has been flawless. This board looks awesome when running, I love the LED backlit Power and Reset buttons, I love the LED backlight on the Audio card, this thing has a dozen little LED's on the inside, makes for a lot of flashing bits and bobs. I love the LED backlit CMOS reset switch on the back, awesome idea!

Driver install was a breeze, vista ultimate x86 all installed (I really need to go x64, but I don't have the x64 disc atm, sooo expensive.)

I haven't done any overclocking yet. I'm still transferring, installing, updating etc.

I have some pictures during the build phase that I will try and post up soon.

A few complaints.
1) The LCD Code poster "grommet" doesn't lock into place, which is just an OCD kinda thing I guess.
2) Maybe it's the case, maybe it's the board (I never had this problem with my P5K deluxe) but the audio card doesn't seem to be perpendicular to the case, when I installed it, if I had it all the way inserted in the slot, as far as it would go, you couldn't get a screw into the expansion mount. If I put a screw into the expansion mount it didn't look flush in the slot, so I left it flush in the slot, it doesn't weigh anything anyway.

I guess that's pretty much all. For now.

Just a quick post to say how much I love this board

This board absolutely loves the Gskill HZ's, they overclock brilliantly for me. I've even managed to get the system to boot with the RAM @ 1200Mhz, 2.26V. Wasn't stable very long but I was suprised by it even booting the RAM.

I promised pics on heatsink removal but time constraints and some really crap photography by me ruined it, sorry about that.

A quick question for those in the know....

Common Performance Level in the BIOS?? Anyone know how to explain it and what it effects. The lowest I can go is 7, anything lower than that and I get "DETDRAM" during POST. No matter what bios settings I use stock/overclocked. CPF just won't go below 7 and from other settings I've seen most people seem to have it set at 5.

Performance level changes the tRD settings, the lower it is, the lower the latency and higher the bandwidth. Depending on how much you are pushing your cards will depend on how low you can push this number. As far as I know (which isn't nearly as much as others), it's basically an advanced memory timing.
