PICTURE TIME!!!
The box...  The inside of the OTHER box (the Rocketfish)...  Visiontek 4870...Yummmm.....  The board still in itss plastic shell...  The board OUT of its plastic shell...  ROG this...  It's mounted up...  It's got goodies...  Goodies on the bottom...  All the goods...  Another of all the goods...  My personal donation to the fingerprint bank (it's actually the side fan thing)...  The side fan covers up the cool LED backlit SupremeFX II part when the board is lit. This thing is like a christmas tree on crack when you put the power to it.

WOW this thread has convinced me to get this mobo.
Was considering it but now its on order!!!!!! What is that random wire going over your fan??? (firewire???) Im so jealous

thanks ericeod, at this point, I'm not that far off, I've got a few things to clean up the insides, and after adding the second 4870, the board is pretty darn full. Overall though, this board looks great, the cards look great, it's just time now for me to start tinkering and finding the clock. For now it seems I'll be temp limited, but I should be able to get 3.8GHz out of the quad, and then I'll just wait for Rivatuner to support the 4800 series so I can start overclocking those beyond the sissy overclock that CCC allows.

Well I hope I made the right decision, got one of these on the way. Should be here Wed. as a mater of fact. I gave up my DFI X48 for this so I hope it's worth it.
__________________And how hard is it to install the hsf with those hs on the NB and fets?? I've got the TT120 and I am dreading having to install that with no room.

I had no problems installing my TRUE, surprisingly plenty of room to maneuver, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Regarding the Rampage Formula, has anyone tried the 0406 bios yet? I picked one up for one of my systems and have it running 0308.
__________________0403 beta is available through asus site and the 0406 is floating around elsewhere (got a copy of it). Apparently it stabilizes LLC but has compatibility issues with raid cards (not that I have one).

I have the 0403 from the Asus website. That seems to be decent enough. I haven't seen the 0406. The 0403 really fixed the LLC quite a bit for me, I think with the 0308 it didn't even seem to be doing all that much at all.
One thing I do know...auto on voltages is wayyyy to liberal in the juice department. It had my NB voltage at 1.6V, when I am perfectly stable at the minimum NB V. But that happened with both 0308 and 0403, as far as I can tell 0403 seems a bit more stable and amenable to RAM overclocking, didn't really change my CPU OC any though.
