Figure I'd ask in here considering this is for an x48 board. What is the main difference between the x38/x48? Thanks!

They're virtually identical apart from X48 being binned (cherry picked) by Intel and thus usually requiring less voltages for higher frequencies and running cooler overall.

Can't get my damn corsair dominator (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF) to work at 1069mhz..very stable at 890mhz.

actually i've never gotten them to work at their advertised speed (tried older asus, dfi p45 jr tsr, and a gigabyte)..why can't this be done it acts like im overclocking it from 800mhz or something

tried to bump the volts on:

NB = 1.65v
Dram = 2.30v
FSB Term. = 1.60v

waaay to high wenn at stock mhz . tried much of what Ghostleader (i believe it was) wrote about dominator but it seems no luck. any other setting that can make ram "oc" more stable?? dram vref skew or something?
well have both the good working and the new trial setting saved in each its oc profile so i can always improve on them. hehe

thanx for ur time

Long story short I need the screws for the heatsink in red. They have the small springs around them. I need two for an RMA to Asus. I lost the other two somewhere. If anyone can help, I'll gladly paypal the cost. Thanks.

If you have the Rampage Formula, it is an ROG board and therefore ASUS will cross ship you a replacement. Call them and set it up ASAP. Then swap the screws when the replacement arrives.

I just set up an RMA last night, I have my RMA number emailed to me. I didn't know about this replacement option. What?

I'm going to have to get some more info on this.

Hi and welcome to OCN.

What´s your symptoms, can you boot into OS, are you unstable during stability test or is anything else?

Kind of weird that you can´t run stable at ~1069MHz.

thank you well I have no problems booting into windows with 1069 5-5-5-15-TRD@7 even at the lowest volt settings but the same problem keeps coming op inside occt linpack ("max 90%") almost precisely at the same time each time 55 min x secunds into the 1 hour countdown. I havent tried upping other volts than those 3 i've mentioned cus i thought that they were the culprit but the time linpack halts is the same no matter how much i up those. It comes up with the very general error .."error detected" so it can be anything about the cpu i think

well heh it can almost certainly only be some other option then..hmm but one would have thought that upping the dram voltage to 2.3v would be enough to give it some stability (tried lower volts also).

hmm maybe the south bridge volts?, dram delay or by manually setting all the other latencies? dram ref..dunno. maybe i need some better ram hehe.
