Are you using the new 0902 bios? There seems to some OC stability problem with it, stable with 0803 but not with 0903. What´s your CPU voltage during load? (Use CPU-z to check). You might need ~1,35 to be stable through Linpack@4,0GHz What´s your CPU/NB GTL Voltage ref set to? Try 0,65 on the CPU and 0,67 on the NB What´s your CPU/NB Clock Skew set to? Try 100ps on the CPU and normal on the NB

![]() in windows my voltage are (using cpu-z) 1.320 idle (sometimes it's shortly going down to 1.312) wierd cus its set at 1.35625v in bios. 1.288 load (linpack max) (starting sometimes at 1.304..also sometimes it goes all the way down to 1.248-1.256) hard to see a system in it..properly depending on load). The GTL & and Skew are just set at auto..i'll try to find out about this ![]() in bios the same options (same setup as above) are set in bios vs. what the hardware monitor say (/) cpu voltage 1.35625v/1.304-1.312v cpu pll voltage 1.50v/1.568v fsb termination 1.20v/1.120v dram voltage auto/2.032v nb voltage 1.35v/1.376v sb voltage 1.050v/1.072 sb 1.5 voltage 1.50v/1.536v dram voltage ref auto/1.024v .... llc disabled dram timings are sat to auto (5-5-5-18) vs the "oc's*" 5-5-5-15. & could not "oc" (couldn't even boot without the fsb strap at 333. .... * wenn im writing "oc" I mean the attempt to go from the auto (800-<1000mhz) setting and to 1066-+. I would be happy if i just could get my ram setup at stock speeds and not downclocked like it is now

The die shrink was only a rumor prior to it's release and was proven to be false. But the X48 is not a die shrink, and is physically identical to the X38. That is why you can cross flash the X48 Rampage Formula And P5E Deluxe bios to the Maximus Formula and P5E (can be cross flashed to both bios) boards which are only X38.

can anyone tell me which vcore value to trust?

For starters downgrade back to 803 until the regression in 902 is fixed (As a new release).

The new bios suck,i use to be able to over clock with 8 gigs of ram to my sig over clock, now i can only over clock with 4 gigs of ram since the bios update.
__________________tho i don't care since i am giving my mother this pc and building my i7 rig at this current moment,i suggest staying away from the new bios was over clocked for more than a year stable with 8 gigs of ram no issues until bios update

I had to test the 0902 and so far it looks good for me.
I did run LinX 30 loop with the following E8600 500 4,25GHz / 4x1 Kingston HyperX PC9600@1200MHz 5-5-5-15 tRD 7 Strong / DRAM Static disabled. Time and GFlops are close so it means that it´s stable enough.
