hello~ i am a newbie, just got a q9650 with rampage formula

but there is a problem, i have 4hdd where 3hdd have vista in it

so i found that if i need to boot correctly, i must disable the 2 hdd drive in the boot drive selection

otherwise i get nothing showed when i power on the computer

now the problem is, when i try to overclock, no matter whats the setting is, i can boot after the first time modification but not the second time

like sometime i can boot up with 467*9 and i want to set the voltage lower so i enter the bios again, when i set the voltage lower i cant boot up

so i thought maybe the voltage is not enough, then i clear cmos and re-do the above thing, on the second modification, i change nothing in the bios

but it just cant boot up, so whats the problem?

i even tried disabling the other sata drives except my main hdd, putting 1.42v for vcore, 1.45 for nb etc

so i thing the voltage should be enough, i just cant figure out why the bios only boot once

also is there some example of q9650 with a rampage formula?

i just know how to set vcore, nb v, pll and vtt, want to learn more

thanks

now i knew whats the problem

i tried clear cmos and get post on first time, i enter bios and CHANGE NOTHING , and select save and reboot

then i got no post, the lcd poster shows "EN SETUP", it shows "EN SETUP" when i enter bios and it never shut down even the computer reboot

i tried 0902 bios and 0803 bios, tried putting only 1 stick of ram in 4 different slots, tried plugging only 1 sata hdd

so is my mobo broken?

thanks

your problem sounds similar to mine. here's my take, but dont count my word as a final say:
in a sense, yes the motherboard probably is broken. i have a similar problem and many people have told me that the problem can be fixed if i change the BIOS chip or something like that. if you are still covered by ASUS warranty, you should try to RMA the board.

i was able to cop an Enermax Revolution85+ 1050w psu and it just arrived today. i put everything together with my new rampage formula (replacement i got from Immortal Kenny here on OCN ), but the system wont fully boot. i push my power button, the system lights up, then turns off, then it lights up again and stays powered up, but i get no signal to the monitor. it's basically like a system hang. i cleared CMOS...so now i'm stuck. nothing's going smoothly for me these days.

I seem to be having an issue where I keep hitting a fsb wall @ 480 with my q9550 it is unstable no matter what I seem to try to make it stable. Anyone got any suggestions? My temps are ok and I can run fine under 480 fsb. I just wana run @ 4.1ghz if possible but I can't seem to make it to the 483 fsb required with the 8.5x multi of the q9550. Any help would be awesome.

Hi scutzi128

If I remember right you have your ram at ~1200C5 at bus 480, it should be that you using ratio 4:5, hmm, it´s a tricky one that one, hard to get stable according to my experience.

Have you tried to run 1:1 and bus 480+ just to see if the memory is holding you back in your fsb quest.
