@odcu139

Hi and welcome to OCN

First of all, fill in your system spec , go to "User CP" top of the page, then "Edit System" under "System Information" to the right in "Your Control Panel".

That way itīs easier for others to help if you need it later.

If you ask me it should probably be a Nvidia GTX 275 or ATI 4890.

But itīs probably better if you ask the guys in the Nvidia Graphics Card Forum, ATI Graphics Card Forum or Graphics Cards General for advice.

Hope you gonna enjoy you Rampage, itīs a great board.

I also just picked up this board (rampage) and installed it last night, got to digging around for info and landed on this site, pure awesomesauce.

I am severely new to OC'ing, so far just reading the stickies and such. However i did try the ASUS AI program and was able to manage to get my system to 2934.4 on the CPU Stable.

I Don't want to push my CPU too far, if there is such a thing, lol.

Looking for similar setups, and some tip maybe. I will continue searching but if anyone can chime in with personal experience it would be helpful.

I have added a attachment of the pic i took of CPU-Z i was running, believe my score for vantage was in the 1100/11000's (idk) dont think its a great/good score by any means.

Any Programs/Advice is always appreciated, as i am still learning.

@Soldierstrife

Hi and welcome to OCN

Get that Q6600 up to 3,2GHz with bus 400 and ram @ 800 555 15 should be a good starting point and it shouldnīt be to difficult to reach.

I can get you a setup suggetion for that later if you like, right now Iīm at work.

@Soldierstrife

This should get you 3,2GHz with bus 400 and ram @ 800 555 15, should be a good starting point.

Some volt values may have to be alter later but the main thing is to boot into Windows, when that is done, you can start to test for stability.

If you can boot into Windows start with the following, run Prime95 small FFT and if it runs without error for one hours you can bring down CPU Voltage one step and run it again for one hour, repeat until error occur, then you know you lowest CPU Voltage level, step up two steps and run it for three to four hour, if error free then you can focus on getting the North Bridge (X48) and those memory stable.

EDIT: Use Core Temp or Real Temp to monitor your CPU temp during stress test.

Default Thanks

Yea, hella thanks!!!

I'm at work and itching to get home so i can tinker more this should be a great help. I'll check back in later and post my results...

I guess it helps that tigerdirect sent me a G0 Q6600 in my original barebones kit i ordered huh? i think the processor cost in the kit was like 60-70 bucks when i figured it all out. Not to shabby from the searches i have been doing.

Edit: Anyone know what i should be getting for 3d Vantage marks on my 260 gtx last night i think i hit 10K ish with a minor OC, to me that seems kind of low. I have been thinking about grabbing another to put into SLI. Is this just a waste of time, or should i try to sell this one and grab a 295?

I was wondering what are safe voltage ranges for the nb on this board? I am running at 1.65v measured via Everest and load temps are around 50*C. Is that safe? and ghostleader running a 1:1 divider does not help at all.

@scutzi128

Well, you push 0,40v more then default and if you run that as a 24/7 setup it may degrade with time, about the temp, well, 50C is a bit on the high side, instability may occur when you are that high, try to bring it down to ~40C.

Maybe you have max out what your board can do with that quad.

But have you try to set the following:

CPU GTL Voltage Reference [0.63X]
NB GTL Voltage Reference [0.67X]
CPU Clock Skew [Delay 100ps] and NB Clock Skew [Normal] or CPU Clock Skew [Delay 200ps] and NB Clock Skew [Delay 100ps]
