I am actually thinking I got a bum chip now as it takes about 1.39v vcore to make the chip 100% prime stable @ 4.04ghz.

Ok, so I just ordered this board and it should be here Tuesday. I was just wondering, before I get it, what the max safe voltages are for it? As soon as I get I'll be replacing the stock TIM with AS5 and seeing if I can figure a way to mount a 60mm fan I have to the NB heatsink.

Well, safe, hmmm, stay with green figures I would say is safe, than you have yellow ones, now it start to get a little unsafe, up in the red ones, well thatīs not recommended. Good call to replace that TIM and ad a fan for that NB. Try this to fix a fan above the NB, put a threaded pin into the stud next to the heatsink and lock it with a nut against motherboard and then put a washer and nut on the either side of the fan futher up on the threaded pin above the heatsink. I hope you get the picture, look at the pics below. ![]() ![]() Or use a Antec Spot fan, itīs a favorite among some. ![]() Hereīs some bios setup suggestions for you, good enough for 24/7 Tested with BIOS 0407 and with E8600, 2x2 Corsair Dominator PC8500 and 4870X2. Some voltage values may have to be alter to suite your needs. Those setup choices are a good base for you to have in this new OC adventure youīre about to enter. First one out. 400 10 4000 1066 555 15 Strong tRD6 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Second one. 450 9 4050 1080 555 15 Strong tRD7 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Third one. 500 8 4000 1000 555 15 Strong tRD9 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's good to see that after all this time that this board has been out that there are so many people still buying it. I have used this board for almost a year and I have been extremely pleased with it.

A couple of quick questions. What bios version should I run? I have 0601 currently, but have been afraid to try the 0902 b/c I've heard some complain about stability?
__________________Also, is it worth it to wipe off the stock heatsink compound and replace with the AS5? I will probably try mounting a fan as you suggested Ghostleader. I'm also looking to upgrade the CPU fan... any suggestions? Thanks!

Some people hade problem with 0902 when OC quad together with some ram. I run 0902, no problems what so ever. If you donīt have any issues, stay with the 0601, otherwise both 0803 and 0902 are fine. With the 0803 came the ability to set the CPU and NB Clock Skew, a nice option to have when go for some high bus speed. If you gonna flash, this can be worth reading first. EZ Flash 2 the best, the safest and the most convenient way to update BIOS Yes itīs worth replace the TIM. Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (TRUE) is one of the best, that one or a similary should be fine.
