Default Asus Rampage Formula (X48) Thread

This thread is about the Asus Rampage Formula motherboard. I decided to start one since I couldn't find a thread for this motherboard yet. I know that it is very similar (save for heatsinks and the BIOS it ships with) to the Asus P5E Deluxe.

Asus doesn't have any information easily accessible on their website for this board. So I had to defer to Newegg for the specs.

I spent a good deal of time looking around, I have the P5K Deluxe right now, but I really want the x16/x16 PCIe 2.0 slots for 4870 CF and future 4870x2 CF. This meant that the P45 boards weren't going to work. I think after looking over the DFI boards they are probably better overclockers, BUT only if you have a masters degree in BIOS interpretation. This has good reviews for being full-featured and a pretty good overclocker. The whole DDR2 thing is just frosting for me since I'm not looking to let go of my HZ's and their 1200MHz at CAS 5

Don't sell this board short when comparing tot he DFI X48 boards. There appears to be some trouble getting high FSB with them right now. I am sure a bios update will solve many of the issues but so far this Asus Rampage Formula is an excellent board. I had mine to 575FSB with an E8400. I am sure it would go higher but I didn't want to pump any more voltage to the board as 575FSB is all I need.

I have a P5K Deluxe right now. It's a P35 chipset.

Monday, my Rampage Formula will be in.

Two different boards.

Sorry to be so confusing.

Excellent, mine just came in the post today

I'll be replacing the stock goop with AS5 so I could probably take some photo's of how to remove the heatsinks..etc.

I haven't had any of those problems, it must be specific to the P5K3 BIOS. I can drop my multi all the way down to 6 with no issues.
