I'm considering upgrading my CPU to an E8500, my GPU to an HD 4870, adding 2 more GB of memory, and upgrading to 64-bit Vista. With the latest BIOS for my board (P32) installed, are there any issues with the dual-core Penryns?

It's kind of iffy, but it should work fine depending on what you do. Besides, if EVGA guarantees it'll work up to an E8500, your warranty should cover it if it doesn't. I would imagine that you would only run into problems with the NB if you every tried some serious OC'ing with it. Other than that, should be clear sailing.
