oh ok.. the strange thing about getting higher FSB is when I try to increase not by 50 Mhz.
its more easy and stable for me if I increase it by 100.. still remember on other thread some mobo has what they called FSB "black hole". This P45 chipset is awesome compared to my previous NVIDIA chipset (maybe ASUS P5N-D is just not my type), it can do 500x8.5 (stable 2 hours OCCT and 12 hours Prime95 blend test) in just a week from the time I opened the box. Maybe can u try 550x7.5 first, just to find the correct NB voltage and RAM voltage to operate stable at 2200 FSB. But it looks that those CPU temps are little high, better try after your Noctua installed.

In deciding between this board and a Gigabyte P45-UD3P, which one would you guys recommend? I have a Q9550 and am hoping to hit 4ghz.

UD3P easily. 4 phase power on the DFI board doesn't play nice with highly overclocked quads. Plus if the board breaks, good luck getting DFI to replace it.

I easily took my Q9550 to 4GHz when I had this board, it was by far the best S775 board I ever touched, it just got a little hot for my cooler at the time so I stayed at 4GHz. I did notice though that the thermal pad on the MOSFET heatsinks weren't touching the MOSFETs at all, luckily I found that before I even put the board in. With a small "mod" that was fixed and the MOSFETs ran incredibly cool with a 4.2GHz quadcore under LinX load. With a bit of searching it turned out a number of these boards have that issue with the MOSFET thermal pads..

Did the board ever squeal under Linx load? Squealed like a pig for me.
