Ok first off.. my system is:
__________________Asus Rampage Extreme mobo Q 9650 cpu 2 x 2ghz Corsair Dominator 2000 mhz DDR3 I was able to hit 4.05 ghz with air cooling; Zalman cooler not OBC, with these settings: FSB: 440 CPU Ratio - 8.0 CPU Clock - Auto NB Clock - Auto FSB Strap to NB - Auto PCIE Freq - 100 DRAM - (ONLY @ 450 FSB was I able to hit the 2000mhz ddr speed ><) DDRam Command Rate - 1N Dram Timing Control - Manual Cas lat - 9 Ras to cas delay - 9 Rras pre time - 9 Ras ACT time - 24 Left rest as auto CPU volt - 1.3 Load Line - disabled CPU PLL volt - 1.51106 FSB Term - 1.10016 GTLF (0) - +40mv GTLF (1) - Auto GTLF (2) - +40 mv GTLF (3) - Auto NB GTLvref - +30mv NB Volt - 1.51907 DramVolt - 1.9 SB Volt - 1.51106 SB volt - 1.06039 CPU Spread - disabled PCIE Spread - disabled I found it not very stable on my end; could just be no water cooling ><, so I lowered some of the voltages and I hit 3.8 with this setting: FSB - 440 Cpu Ratio - 8 Dram DDR3 - 1721 mhz ( like i said lower than 450 no 2000 mhz ><) Command - 1N Timing - Manual same as before CPU Volt - 1.2 Load - disabled CPUT PLL - 1.51106 FSB - 1.10016 the GTLVref i left the same NB Volt - 1.40497 DRam - 1.80256 and everything else was the same. This was close to 3.8-3.9 ghz not sure; I reset everything since I thought it was the oc that was causing my BSOD. Was attempting to play The Witcher and it would crash on me 0o.. Set everythig back to original and it still did it so I am looking into this ><. But it plays crysis with no problems . If I overlooked something or the volts could be worked a little better let me know.

was still having a bit of problems; bsod for no reason lol. Wouldn't do it during crysis.. If I opened Zune it would crash 0o.. Well decided to drop the ram settings and boom.. jumped it back up to 4.05. Actually placed all the voltages in auto and jumped my fsb up to 450 with a multi of 8 and it seems pretty stable right now. Will let you know what happens. If someone knows any downside to leaving the voltages in auto, along with all the droops and load droops let me know. Since the board is new along with latest bios I don't think there should be a chance of failure from the board.

Always manually set CPU PLL voltage on Asus Rampage Extreme. I guess they have fixed it in new BIOS versions, but better safe than sorry - REX used to fry with extremely high PLL voltage on auto.
Your voltages look all right, except vcore maybe; did you try higher vcore? If not, you should. It might just as well be your RAM causing problems; try setting it to the first lower value below 2000MHz. If it works, just keep it that way and lower the timings. Good luck.

Donīt leave volt at auto, it overvolt pretty high, not good for your chip in the long run. You shouldnīt have any problem with FSB 450 multi 9 with that Q9650. Start to set your ram at 1800 999 28, DRAM Static auto, Twister auto, Transaction Booster auto, tune those ram later, first get your chip stable. If you can boot into windows, no need for higher PLL Not stable in Windows with P95 blend, usually to low FSB or NBv or wrong NB GTL If freeze with LinX to low NBv or wrong NB GTL, if error or reboot (BSOD) to low FSB, CPUv or wrong CPU GTL. Set CPU skew Delay 200ps, NB skew Normal. When chip is rock solid stable you can move on to tune those ram. Run FSB 450 or 500 and 2x2 ram 2000 gonna be a tough task so you have a lot of work to do, trail and error. Good luck

Ok well tweaked it a little and this is what I got:
__________________FSB 450 (system would not post @ 500 with a multiplier of 9 0o) Cpu ratio 9 cpu clock - delay 200ps Dram freq - 1800mhz (no 2000 mhz setting for 450 @ 9x) dram comman - 1N timing - manual (9 9 9 28) Cpu Volt - 1.33750 LL Cal - disabled CPU PLL 1.603811 FSB Term. volt - 1.12666 CPU GTLVref 0 - auto " " 1- +40mv " " 2- Auto " " 3- +40mv NB GTLVref - +30mv NB volt - 1.55072 Dram volt - 1.88206 SB volt - 1.51106 SB Volt - 1.06039 only thing is that it is still a bit twitchy.. Crysis will crash sometimes for no reason 0o.. And, I find this very odd, that it takes 13 - 20 scrolls on the windows loading screen to load up 0o.. When my secondary system (one in sig) posts on 3rd scroll.. what is up with that? lol.

Was just now got a BSOD with those settings with crysis and zune running. I have a strong feeling it is the ram settings will put them all to auto and test it out again and post back.

Ok not getting BSOD anymore, but crysis will crash; or could be kick from a server due to high ping 0o.. for some reason inet is acting up today. Pinging @ 250 for some reason. not sure if its related. So any ideas on the proper RAM settings?

Hi guys, Iīm back and I have tried to get my RE stable with a Q9650 and some 4x1 Dominator 1800C7D.
So far I have it stable with LinX 25 loop (max problem size, max memory use) and 2hrs of Crysis (loop with Harbor Assualt @ 1600x1200 Very high) but it fail one or two cores within 5 minutes when I run Prime95 blend (4 instances). Have tried a lot of combination to get it stable but none worked, any ideas anyone. 450 9 4,05 / 1800 777 21 1N tRD6 Strong / Strap 400 (major settings in screenie)

Finally Iīm stable with P95 blend (4 instances @ 925Mb each), how, I ran the same setup with 1104 and thatīs it.
Sure feels nice to be stable with 4x1 @ 1800 777 21 1N tRD6 Strong and a Q9650 @ 450 9 4,05GHz. ![]()

Has anyone dropped the CPU multiplier & seen how high they could push the FSB? There have been claims of an over 700 FSB at a 6 times multiplier.
