@Kavourdoukos
I thought that much because i7 is a different kind of ball game compare to Core 2. The BCLK (bus) are 133MHz as default and there are two memory ratio with the i7 920, 8 and 10 and it makes the memory to run in either 1066 or 1333. In order to make the memory to run for example 1600 ratio 8 or 2000 ratio 10, one have to OC BCLK to 200. One other thing are that the memory controller is inside the i7 chipset compare to the Core 2, there it´s in the NB (MCH) and Intel have set the max voltage limit for the memory controller to 1,65 for the i7, this mean if one feed more then 1,65 the CPU can sour. So before you go out and buy some new memory it can be a good idea to do some research on how to tame this new systems of yours. You can start here and here. Here´s some OC guide on the i7, from X-Bit and bit-tech. Good luck with your new system.

Quite possible, esp given their stock frequency. I know nothing about i7's though, so can't say for sure. GL will probably know more or just google...

I give up to get my 2x2 Transcend stable @ 1800, I get P95 blend (4x850mb) stable but with the same setup I can´t get passed 500% with HCI Memtest (4x850mb), if I bring down Twister from strong to light and some DRAM skew I come close to 700% but that´s it.
With LinX I only pass one, error in the second one and I also get some random BSOD just idle at desktop. So that was my adventure with those Transcend. ![]() @Kavourdoukos Nice progress

Hello,
__________________I am having some issues with my temps on this board! I have a lapped TRUE 120 Extreme with a 120 MM fan connected to it and RealTemp is reporting idle temps of 49-50, with 70 on load and CoreTemp is about 4-5 degrees higher. I used to auto-overclocked option on my 9550 to get to 3.54 GHz. Aren't much temps supposed to be a LOT lower? Can anyone give me some advice on how to cool this down a bit more? Thanks!

You need to find out whether it's your board giving too much voltage to your CPU or you did not mount it properly / failed with grease etc.
It used to mess up CPU PLL completely; you'll have to set the voltages manually, I'm afraid. For that, we need a Q9550 user to help you.

Hi guys, i have read through all 25 pages of this thread and i must say it was a pleasure!
__________________I can finally subscribe to this thread as i got my RE about a month ago. I am from South Africa. I have played around with the OC settings in the BIOS(1202) but since i am still new to OC'ing i don't know what half the settings mean! Ghostleader you seem to know alot about this motherboard and hopefully you can help me out here. What is the max that i can take the Q6600 to? I have managed to clock it to 3.6GHz stable, but would love to go further! And also my RAM...apparently it is a good kit? I pad R2000 for it (+-$260) Here are some screenies! http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...ckClocks-1.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...5/CPU36GHz.jpg I know my vCore volts is a bit high but the system wont boot at all when i set it lower? I hope this thread is still alive
