Hey. DRAMv was already pretty high at 1.9V (if I upped it I got into the yellow zone) so I tried increasing my NB Volt with 2 increments. I was able to run 4xMemtests at 850 for about 1170% coverage with 0 errors so I guess that fixed the problem.

Sorry to here that, I probably miss it, shall we give it a go again.

475 isn´t bad at all but we always want more.

1170% is be stable enough, nice work

You may try to run Memtest once more with lower DRAMv just to see when those ram get unstable, maybe you can get those stable at ~1,80.

For those of you using the waterblock, I strongly suggest removing it and applying your own TIM.

I started planning my cooling strategy tonight and this is what my stock waterblock looked like:

Second that and I recommend to go one step futher and replace the TIM between the NB,SB and the heatsink/pipe arrangement.

Here´s a picture of how it can look like under the heatsink/pipe arrange
ment

Check the contact after replaced the TIM, it may look like this.

To apply more pressure, put an other washer for each screw underneath the board.

I want to show you guys what this awesome board can do.

Here´s some 3Dmark result that I did run with my Asus Rampage Extreme / Q9650 / 2x1 Corsair Dominator PC-14400 1800C7 / EVGA GTX 285 FTW, I run Vantage with Windows 7 RC 64-bit and the rest with XP SP2 32-bit

@ various speed, bus 505 - 510, CPU speed 4,545 - 4,590GHz and ram @ 2020 - 2040 888 24 Strong tRD 8

It´s pretty awesome I most say, consider that it was made with a quad, I did try the same with my EP45-UD3P, EP45T-UD3P and Rampage Formula but they couldn´t touch the Rampage Extreme.

I participated in The Offiicial 2009 OCN 3DMark Challenge with those results and got second in the Mixed Class.

You guys are welcome to join the current challenge, the OCN Time Challenge - Benchmarking Contest - REVISED!, lets join up and show others what that Rampage Extreme can do.

Grats on seconds place and a awesome OC
I'm on the other hand having some problems with my ram. Even if I can run memtest without errors i keep getting random crashes in games due to memory errors. Is there a way to loosen the timings on the ram or anything else I can do to make them more stable?

Mine was a lot like yours. I think it's a recurring problem with rigid multi-contact heatsink assemblies. Sometimes selectively tightening and loosening the right combination of screws can get it all flexed just right, and sometimes you never can. Then you need to use more TIM than you'd like to increase the contact surface area.

Here's a pic of what I finally had to do (the potpouri of different TIM's was just to utilize what I had on hand ).
Green: shin etsu - had to use A LOT to get contact.
NB: AS5
SB: ceramique

I also had to add some washers to the NB screws to get that fully contacted.

Unfortunately, my open box mobo purchase only had the fusion block. I have an order in from Gary for the EK NB block, but in the meantime I have to use a crappy little heatsink.

That tiny heatsink actually works pretty well with this 84 CFM 80X38mm fan blowing directly on it full blast. It also helps a little to remove the ROG LED from the heatsink apparatus because it just blocks a lot of direct airflow.

Thank you

What kind of memory error do you get?

What´s your OC configuration when you get these random crashes?

Probably you´re low in some voltage setup, FSB, NB or memory.

Sure you can loosen some setting to get less strain on the system but again, what´s your OC config?

@Patch

Nice mod Patch.

I actually ran that heatsink/pipe arrangement for a week or two before I change it for some third party heatsinks, easier to hold down those temp with it now.

Some Enzotech and Thermalright parts doing the job now, insted of Asus, not so good heatsink/pipe arrangement.
