Hello to Everybody here in the Forums...

Post of Bios Settings in this Thread with some Modifications, but i cant get it stable... Do i have something to change on the 2 South Bridge Voltages ? Because i'm running a RAID 0 on the 2 SpeedingHDD Ports with 2 Velociraptors 150 GB and a RAID 5 on the ICH9R with 4 Seagate Barracudas 1,5 TB ??? How high is the FSB working on that Board ??? With a 45nm Quad ? Thanks for answers...

Hi and welcome to OCN and the Asus Rampage Extreme Overclocking Guide. ![]() Sorry for the late respons, busy week. Well, the Rampage Extreme is a bit tricky when one is closing in on busspeed 450 or more with a quad and also picky about 2Gb sticks ram at speed 1600 and above. I would say the RE is made for dual and 1Gb sticks, specially Micron D9GTR, RE just love it. Well, back to business, down below is a suggestion for you, it give you busspeed 450, CPU 4,05GHz and ram at 1353 666 24, Twister Moderate and Common Performance Level 8 (tRD8), it should be a good starting point. You might need two or three step up from default on those SB voltage with you RAID. My Q9650 max out at busspeed 525 but I need a lot of voltage for that, way up in red figures, I donīt run higher then 450 for 24/7, it need to much voltage above that in my opinion. Good luck ![]() Code:

@ihackamac2
Well, RE and RIIE are different as night and day, they are so different regarding how to set up in the bios. The main different between those is that RE have the memory controller in the MCH (NB) and the RIIE have it in the CPU, different technology. A suggestion, you can start your own Rampage II Extreme Owner Thread so all RIIE owner have a place to meet and help. Hereīs some links for you Intel Core i7-920 Overclocking Guide from X-bit UnOfficial Asus Rampage II Extreme Thread over at Xtreme Systems

Hi to Everybody here in the Forums
__________________First of all sorry for my poor english, I'll try my best This is my ring: Asus Rampage eXtreme (BIOS 1201) Intel Q9450 XigmaTek HDT-S1283 Super Talen DDR3 1800mhz 4GB (2 x 2gb - 8-8-8-24) ATI 4870x2 Antec TruePower Quattro 100w Lian-Li PC-P80 Windows Vista x64 --------- My target: Running the memory at its stock speed, I mean DDR3 1800mhz For that, I need to run the Q9450 at 450mhz, and that is resulting impossible for me right now. I don't care to run it at whatever multiplier I need (x6, x7, or x8). The only thing I'd like is to run the memory at 1800mhz Actually I'm running the Q9450 @ 3.2Ghz (400 x 8) without problems but memory is running at 800mhz ![]() I've read all the thread, and I've tried almost all of yours suggestions with no luck, for example the last one I tried: Ai Overclock Tuner [Manual] OC From Memory Level Up [Auto] FSB Frequency [450] CPU Ratio Setting [6, and 7, and 8] - No luck * CPU clock skew [Delay 300ps] * NB clock skew [Delay 100ps] FSB Strap to North Bridge [200 & 400] PCIE Frequency [100] DRAM Frequency [1353] DRAM Command Rate [2N] DRAM Timing Control [Manual] 1st information CAS# Latency [8] RAS# to CAS# Delay [8] RAS# PRE Time [8] RAS# ACT Time [24] RAS# to RAS# Delay [Auto] REF Cycle Time [Auto] WRITE Recovery Time [Auto] READ to PRE Time [Auto] 2nd information READ to WRITE Delay(S/D) [Auto] WRITE to READ Delay(S) [Auto] WRITE to READ Delay(D) [Auto] READ to READ Delay(S) [Auto] READ to READ Delay(D) [Auto] WRITE to WRITE Delay(S) [Auto] WRITE to WRITE Delay(D) [Auto] 3rd information WRITE to PRE Delay [Auto] READ to PRE Delay [Auto] PRE to PRE Delay [Auto] ALL PRE to ACT Delay [Auto] ALL PRE to REF Delay [Auto] DRAM Static Read Control [Disabled] DRAM Dynamic Write Control [Disabled] > DRAM Skew Control : DRAM CMD Skew on Channel A [Auto] DRAM CLK Skew on DIMM A1 [Auto] DRAM CLK Skew on DIMM A2 [Auto] DRAM CTL Skew on DIMM A1 [Auto] DRAM CLT Skew on DIMM A2 [Auto] DRAM CMD Skew on Channel B [Auto] DRAM CLK Skew on DIMM B1 [Auto] DRAM CLK Skew on DIMM B2 [Auto] DRAM CTL Skew on DIMM B1 [Auto] DRAM CTL Skew on DIMM B2 [Auto] Ai Clock Twister [Moderate] Ai Transaction Booster [Manual] Common Performance Level [8] Pull in of CHA PH1 [Disabled] Pull in of CHA PH2 [Disabled] Pull in of CHB PH1 [Disabled] Pull in of CHB PH2 [Disabled] (-- Manual --) EPU II Phase Control [Auto] *** Please key in numbers or select voltage!*** CPU Voltage [from 1,3625 to 1.4] Load-Line Calibration [Disabled] and Enabled -> No luck CPU PLL Voltage [1,5773] FSB Termination Voltage [1,3519] CPU GTLVref(0) [Auto] CPU GTLVref(1) [-40] CPU GTLVref(2) [Auto] CPU GTLVref(3) [-40] NB GTLVref [+60] North Bridge Voltage [1,5109] DRAM Voltage [1,90] NB DDRVref [Auto] DDR3 Channel A Vref [Auto] DDR3 Channel B Vref [Auto] South Bridge 1.5 Voltage [1,5110] South Bridge 1.05 Voltage [1,0603] ****************************************** CPU Spread Spectrum [Disabled] PCIE Spread Spectrum [Disabled] And the result is " Boot Image Is Corrupt. If I try any other setting (1333, 1500 or 1600) I get BSOD or stop at DET RAM message. Any help would be much appreciated THANKS in advance P.D.: Some screens:

Sorry for the late respons, Iīm very busy. Well, I donīt have much luck with strap 200 at all and you got it stable at 595, good work. I can get 600 (E8600) with strap 333 and ram @ 1920C7 and if I compare your settings with mine you can try the following. Code:
* CPU clock skew [Delay 100ps - 300ps] * NB clock skew [Normal - Delay 100ps] Ai Clock Twister [Auto] CPU Voltage [1.35 - 1.375] Load-Line Calibration [Disabled] NB GTLVref [-35 - -50] North Bridge Voltage [1.55 - 1.80]

To get a quad stable at 500 on the Rampage Extreme is a bit tricky, first you need to apply a lot of voltage and second, you need to get those GTL ref and Clock skews right. You can try something like the setup below, it will give you 500x8 4,0GHz and ram @ 1600C7 or 8. As this is a suggestion you need to tune it for your system. Good luck ![]() Code:
