Default Other thoughts on helping others

I copied this from another board it’s for a 790 chipset, we need something like this for the Extreme Rampage.

Quote:
It's hard for us to help out without knowing what your bios settings are. Fill this out if you are having a problem, so that we can look it over and save us time. Also, as noted in the sticky section, please put detailed hardware configurations in your signature including the timings and recommended voltages of your memory. Make sure you test your memory with two passes of memtest using a boot cd with each dimm in the first slot. Don't test them in pairs. When they pass, put them in the black slots.

Fill this out.

Good idea. I haven't finished my OC tests yet with dual cores and quads. Once I do, I'll post some numbers back. good to see you watercooling the board as well as it will make for a solid comparison.

Default tempermental

Maximus Extreme is such a tempermental board. i constantly have issues with it. Mainly the RAM. I hope that the Rampage Extreme is better.

We need to get a bios template on what works and core settings. (This will help a lot of people out) I can't wait until UPS gets here. All my stuff should be here Friday.

I started a topic under Intel Builds so I will not hijack this topic.

Here is my build: http://www.overclock.net/intel-build...ml#post4551509

I doubt it will help a lot of people. As far as I've been notified, so far there are only 3 members here at OCN with the board, given its price tag, I doubt there will be a large membership.

With the EVGA 790i Ultra, there are only a dozen or so owners here at OCN as well (myself included).

Nonetheless, its a good idea to build the guide for people potentially looking at buying the board.

Hopefully it will get a better following with people that were considering the 790 series and are afraid of the stability issues. I know that’s why I went with the Extreme Rampage. Once we start posting some OCing numbers I think this board will take off. You are right on about the cost though, it’s hard on the wallet.

Yes, a guide will be very helpful in the future. I am still a bit shy to drop that much dinero on a board.

I agree and hopefully we will be having one shortly. I know about the dinero it was hard for me to do it, but sometimes you just have to bit the bullet.

I just acquired this board along with a Q9550 (Using a Thermaltake V1 for cooling at the moment, currently stable at 3.5 GHz, can probably go higher with some more tweaking). I haven't finished making cooling adjustments with this board, so I'll probably be watching this thread with curiousity.

Welcome to the club, I should be running tomorrow, I'm waiting for delivery of the last cooling block. The Swiftech NB block came today, it's sweet compared to the Fusion block. It's installed and running.

Cheers
