Default 680i Issues

Hello,
I have done a decent amount of research on this subject, but I can't seem to find what I need. Here are my problems:

Recently Vista has been acting rather sluggish. Sluggish to the point where it wont freeze, but I have to shut it down. Well, when I restarted it Mediashield would detect both my RAID-0 arrays, but Vista would not boot. Other times it would tell me to check my SATA cables. I checked the cables, replaced them--still no fix. Next, I cleared the CMOS and found that the BIOS was picking up all four hard drives. Thinking that I had the problem solved, I enabled RAID, and Mediashield recognized the arrays and booted Vista. Yay. HOWEVER, it was only stable for an hour before I had to shut it down due to it being sluggish. When I restarted the BIOS only detected ONE hard disk. Thats how it has been for the past few days. I'm not sure if it is the mobo or the hard drives. I have serious doubts that 3 disks failed at once.

If I have a dead mobo for sure, that is fine. My other problem is hoping that my RAID-0 arrays will be detected and work with a 750i (or later) nFORCE board. I would like to keep my data.

Have you gotten any S.M.A.R.T. warnings? You could have a hard drive getting ready to die on you.

i never got any S.M.A.R.T. warnings. If 1 hard drive is getting ready to die then what explains the BIOS only picking up 1 drive?

Having more than 1 drive die at a time is not unheard of at all. Two months ago three of the five RAID 5 drives failed. All at once. No warning at all. Glad we make a backup of everthing each night.
