They're both great budget boards, so just get the cheapest one.

for some reason I'm struggling to find all the reviews for the Gigabyte board (DS3L) in particular.

Anyone?

I've located the xtreview one...but thats it! It is for the Rev1.0 board. As far as I can tell the Rev2.0 gets two extra USB ports...but does anyone know if anything else has changed between the Rev1 and Rev2 boards?

hmm dunno but usually with gigabyte boards, new revisions are there to support new CPU chips.
